Some European traditions say that on Leap Day (February 29) a woman may propose marriage to her man.

And in the old comic strip Li'l Abner Sadie Hawkins was allowed to marry the first man she could outrun. Sadie was kind of a big gawky girl, not too pretty, didn't marry until her late 30's... (Uh, wait a minute here!)

Anyway, we're going to celebrate this ancient tradition of sorts with a women's only pinball tournament at The Pinball Dudes. And of course that sentence makes perfect sense.

This is for IFPA Women's Points (not Open points). It will likely be the first very important women's tournament of the year as we quest toward the first-ever IFPA Florida Women's State Championship a year from now. (Competitive ladies, you need these points.)

Women and girls of all ages are welcome!

  • $10 entry fee
  • 10-strike Progressive Strikes knockout. (Everyone is guaranteed to play at least four rounds.)
  • Practice starts at 8am and the tournament starts at 10:30 like always.
  • 50%, 25%, 15%, 10% payout for 1st through 4th place, as always.
  • Standard IFPA rules apply.

During practice, you will vote on 3 machines you would like to see in the tournament (1st, 2nd and 3rd choice). We will collect everyone's votes, and the games with the highest total votes will be in the tournament. Maybe you'd like to dance with Deadpool. Or maybe you like your men tall, dark and green like Herman Munster. Pick your favorites, and hope others pick them, too.

If you have questions, please send them to me on the Village or contact The Pinball Dudes at (954) 224-8678. See you then!
