Ok everyone...
Maybe buying a new pinball.
What should I buy?!
Anyone have any favorites?
-
nope. go to your dealer, or buddy. play, play, play.
it's been beaten to death. what i like and Joe likes...might annoy you. :P
once you're done playing....play more. make your own choice.
it's too much money for me to tell you what you will like. but i know what i like: eclectic layout designs with interesting non-photoshop artwork. ;D
go play a deadpool. and a centaur. for the greater good. then play a car hop, vegas, or hoops, to figure out what sucks. :o
i've sold 2 machines over the last 20+ years that i regretted selling (an HUO appearance Dig Dug and a nice Phantom of the Opera).
i purchased my Dig Dug back a month later, and drove to retrieve his azz...and i just repaired a new-to-me Phantom, to fix the only errors of my coin-op history.

Thanks. I play on it... just wanted to see what people are liking.
I am interested in deadpool though.

me? lots of time on every stern since Pool Sharks. so looking at recent releases:
deadpool. lots to do. eclectic layout. some interesting tricks written into the code. fun to play. great video interaction for my tastes.
munsters. wow....GREAT layout. coder screwed the pooch on this one.
iron maiden. very good 1st time effort of a layout for keith elwin. well done video.
jurassic park. i have 0% interest in this theme. but, to be blunt, it's one of the best layouts in pinball in the last 20 years, in my humble opinion. only the second design for keith elwin.
note: the Dead Flip preview of this title made it look like absolute garbage. why i try to only judge when i play...well, i try :P
just wait for the next 6+ offerings coming...pinball is so lucrative, the market is getting too many options to handle demand.

Wow thanks for the info K7!

Pinball is waaay too subjective, it's like asking someone to recommend a pair of shoes. Only you will know if you like it.
That said, with games costing close to $6k new (and going up steeply from there) you want to try to buy something that has some popularity so it won't take too hard in value if you ever decide to sell it.
If you find that you do like a game that's unpopular (which is totally fine) just make the most of it and buy someones barely-used model for a nice $1k discount (cough cough Munsters cough)
Deadpool is a fun game and seems to be popular so value wouldn't be a problem but as others have pointed out go play one extensively before you punk down a bunch of money on one.

Hear the advise from these folks. The least played pin in my house is the #1 rated Medieval Madness. The most Wizard of Oz with Monopoly close behind. Go figure🤷♂️.
Play as many as you can before buying.

Im with you buddy.. I had a Medieval years ago and could not understand what people love about that game.
Its not terrible or anything but best of all time? its a snoozer, I get bored and space out playing it. :P

MM is a fun pin, I love to play on location, callouts always make me smile. But I kinf of agree, it's a one trick pony, not sure if it's a good choice at home if you don't already own a huge line-up.
I think it's n°1 because it's easy to play, rules are obvious and everybody like the theme, not because it's the best table ever.

or buy my FIRE!, older game so Ive discounted the price all the way down to 2000 bucks!

be sure to come back and post what your first pin was !! ;)
