I'm more impressed that Sid had a grandmother...I thought he was grown in some lab building rage clones.

Thanks guys.  My Grandparents never understood why I love this little car so much but they thought that the first build was cool.  This build would blow their minds.  I wish that they were here to see it.

I have tons of memories of going to the beach in this car, getting picked up from school and my grandfather used it after he retired to haul around the lawnmower and cut neighbors lawns to keep busy.

My Grandmother even used to let grab the bumper and pull me on my skateboard.  :D

It should be fun with this brand new LS3 under the hood and a 6 speed Tremec.  8)
The original engine made 78 HP.  This one makes 525 HP.  :D

The chassis is being built to run autocross but will be able to handle any future horsepower upgrades.  8)

I also still own my first car, a 1972 Buick Skylark.  It will be next.  :)

hmmmmm my first car was a 75 Grand Am with a 455...due to a combination of alcohol, mescaline and bad judgement it ended it's life upside down in a canal.

Great thread!

Thanks for sharing the photos and story.

Good luck with the car.

Now . . . you started it . . . . I want a "burn out thread" . . . lets see that baby run!

LOL...I think I'm probably about 6 month away from turning the tires.  The Chassis is close to being finished the mock up stage then it will need to be fully welded and powder coated.  Then it will get a new fuel system,  fire system and the fully wired, and after all of that, metal work and final body and trim work.  There is still a ton to do.

I was hesitant to post this thread here because I didn't think that there would be enough interest in it.  I'm glad I did.

Spent some more money.  Got my column, master cylinders for the brake and clutch, pedal assembly, radiator and fan assembly and fuel cell.  I love it when all the pretty new parts show up.
