I had a small SUV shipped from San Francisco to Florida three years back. Door-to-door service in an open-air trailer that took about a week to get here. I paid $750 (insurance included) and it went extremely well; not a scratch on it. I scheduled it about a month in advance with A1.

The trucker who transported the vehicle the entire way said he was a "contractor" for the company that lived in LA and that he owned and operated the truck. He gave me his card and said it would be cheaper to go directly through him, if I needed to ship again in the future. (Don't know about the insurance situation though.) I'll hunt around and see if I still have his card.

If it only ran, my buddy would fly over and drive it back, just for the sight seeing...you still would need to buy gas and cover his expenses for food/lodging.

Nice looking Vega.
What's going on with the one you're building?

I've always called that one my #littlegreenvega.  The exhaust is getting close to being finished, full stainless with Spin Tech mufflers and we are making the dashboard removable so it can be reinstalled after the chassis is power coated.

I'll post some pics in that thread.

Thanks for the interest.

looks better in your pics than it did in the craigslist ad. I hope it's a solid easy fixer. :)

if there's an older car you want, you, or it, will have to travel.

That thing looks amazing, love the color also. What are the louvers for on the rear 1/4 panel  ???  Functional or just for style points?

Just style.  They break up the long quarter panels.

I have a Instagram account but not Facebook.  One of my fellow Vega fans on Instagram PM'ed me last night saying that there was some talk on Facebook about this new car and pictures of it coming though Texas.

Pretty cool.

I always thought that the vented the interior, if you bring air in from the cowl panel it has to be able to get back out.
I could very well be wrong though.

It's here and is pretty nice.  I replaced the points and coil, added some fresh fuel and it fired right up.  It runs really good and doesn't smoke.  I'm going to swap some fluids and give it a good once over and it should be ready to hit the open road.  :D

Run it a few hundred miles and change the oil again.
