Rainbow Crane issue
« on: December 04, 2017, 09:38:09 AM »
My Rainbow crane is periodically moving into location but when the claw is dropped it lowers an inch or so and then returns to start position.  Thought it was the string but it is  not.  Any help on this would appreciate it

Cable wires on cranes wear out like tires on a car.  Have you replaced the wiring since you bought it?  Time to do so.

Don't forget to check your switches too. There are microswitches that control the up/down motion. The down switch may be closing early causing the cpu to think that it is down as far as it can go. Could be a switch adjustment or still be a string problem.

Waiiiit a minute....does the claw close after it lowers an inch or so? Or does it stay open and then go uip and move home? If it never closes it could be power supply, cpu, or wiring like funwiz said.

this. at least my experience. a loose/desoldered wire on the down switch will cause that failure too. :)

Yes it closes , returns and opens just like it should....just drops an inch instead of the full drop

Could be a simple knot or tangle in the cord, causing an error, or a switch adjustment.
