Are these any good for MAMEs?

I'm rebuilding a MAME cabinet and need to work out a new computer setup for it.

Are these adapters any good or should I suck it up and pay the $100 for a PCI-e version of the ArcadeVGA?

My experience with them, I couldn't get it to successfully do PC to CRT and tried many different options. They work quite well for Arcade to VGA though.

I wouldnt use an arcade vga.  I would just get a normal AMD card, use the crt emu driver and install the atom15 bios to it.

Yeah I knew back in the day they were just a hacked BIOS off the shelf card.

Are there any requirements for what sort of AMD card you need?
