Wondering what people think of this?

http://www.barrelarcade.com

Good value or not?

Seems pretty cool. Thinking about this for my AirBnB house gameroom.

members here will make you one for 1/2 that $1500 price tag.

60in1 - 39 bucks
LCD - 50 bucks max
plexi or glass top - $25 bucks
buttons, wiring, power - $60 buck

so you're paying $1325. for that barrel and labor. :)

That's pretty cool. I would put one of those in my gameroom. $1500 is way to much for me.

Neat but not $1500 neat.  Barrels cost between $150-$300 unless this guy has a supplier who's giving them to him cheaper.  He's probably got $400-$600 in the whole thing.  I think Brian was going to make one a while back.

If someone wants to start making copies of these for less, I am interested in buying.

Not interested in building one myself.

Barrel, used - $50 from Angry Chair or Cycle Brewing.  See them on FB all the time after they do BA beers.

Would need to figure out how to clean / treat after beer was in (after spirits were in), but has to be some kind of answer.

Putting the "fun" in dysfunction every day...

no promises, but i'm going to give this a shot. the control panels are going to bother me, i'm no woodworking guy on any level.

i'll keep price tabs and labor time to put together...and will try to utilize a tempered gray glass round top. i'll try to make one this summer, given time and my short attention span.

maybe i'll do a horizontal version.

i found 1 a board member built. he also was asking 1500 years ago, so maybe my price assumption is wrong. :)

This is a ripoff of Griffin/Maximus Barrel of kong project
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=131202.0

Personally not my cup of tea.

K7 assuming you can procure lots of barrels and if you were closer, I'd cut and route you some panels for them and you could build these at home all day and night.

$415 to build.  that's a good azz link. thanks! :)

15 hours of labor? crap...i was thinking 3 hours with someone else building those dual control panels. ;)

i'd leave a 10 inch void in the bottom, to fill with sudsy water or "beer"...sealed with glass and lit up with the electronics all above that void.

I would think these things would be rickety or top heavy perhaps?  The internals are not that heavy if you're using an LCD screen.
Sometimes when playing these games with joysticks you move the entire cabinet around.  I think these barrels might not be so steady unless the base is really heavy.  Anyone else think this?

i'd agree with that thought. there is no weight with an LCD and the internals.

worst cast, drop a 10 lb weight in the bottom. or a sand bag, they use that in office table setups.

me? add that fake beer bottom section. ;)

i'd be more worried with something that was top heavy versus a neutral setup.     :)
