Hi Guys:

Here's an interesting one for you.

My daughter has just had another baby and would like to move to a 7 seater vehicle.

She and my son-in-law currently have 17 months of a 36 month lease remaining on a fully loaded 2018 Audi Q5 SUV, with Premium Plus Package and would like to transfer this lease to someone else.

If you are not familiar with how this works, check out the link at the bottom to swapalease.com where the vehicle has just been listed.

It's quite a simple transaction where Audi will do a credit check on the proposed new lessee, (just like they do on anyone leasing a car) and then they have the new lessee sign an agreement saying that they are now leasing the car, for the balance of the original term and payments. The whole transfer is completed in 3 to 4 weeks.

The beauty of this arrangement is that you are leasing the car for only 17 months at less than an identical car would cost you over 36 months, if you go to a dealer.  Also, nothing out of pocket!  No deposit and no dealer fee!  At the end of the lease, you can either buy the vehicle at the pre-determined price (already written into the lease agreement) or just hand the car back and 'walk away'.

The only fees that the new lessee would pay is $100 for the credit check and $350 that Audi (Volkswagen Credit) charge for the transfer fee.

Lease transfers are big business, as you will see when you go to the site.  I always lease my cars and, in the last few years, I have transferred 3 cars to new lessees.

Anyway, if anyone is interested in taking over this lease, please send me a PM and we can go from there.

Full description of the vehicle and payments here:

Thanks so much for looking at this.

Click on the link, pinhead is in the description.....

If your younger eyes should see a mark or two, I doubt they would be any larger than a pinhead, if at all!

Come on Guys! You have this all wrong. This is an opportunity to take over a lease on a high end pinball transportation vehicle. Rodger is a good guy in the community. I have seen a lot more crazy stuff posted on the village. Best of luck selling the vehicle. Nice looking SUV.

Thanks so much for stepping in, Jonathan, my friend.

I thought negativity was reserved for Pinside.  Clearly, I was wrong.

And yes, this is a great deal for someone looking for a superb car, without long term commitment.

This was an interesting idea, as I'm planning on looking for another car in the near future.  But man, 691 miles per month -- that's about 23 miles per day.  I have a fairly short commute and it's still about 24 miles round trip.  This limitation could be tough for some folks, so it's worth pointing out.  GLWS ... or should I say GLWLS?

Serious question , why don't you swap for the bigger car like so?

I thought the same thing. And for almost $600 a month I don't like that math. That's almost a dollar a mile on top of fuel costs. And God forbid you go over the lease agreement on mileage.
Sure it might be right for someone but damn.
I guess shiney new things drive people to make all sorts of decisions wise or unwise

If you go over mileage, Audi will charge you 25c per mile over.

So, if someone needs 10K miles per year, that means the overcharge on this one, for the remaining 17 months will be 2,111 miles @ 25c per mile.

At the end of the lease you will owe Audi Finance the grand sum of $603!!

Add the one time $603 overcharge to the monthly payments and I challenge anyone to lease another car with a sticker of $52,640 and 10K miles per year for a total of $574 per month plus tax, with no deposit or dealer fee, with only a 17 months commitment.

Of course, for those not in the market for a luxury SUV, it's a mute point anyway.

There may not be the front end fees but, at the very least there will be a disposition fee, and then anything they find during the end of lease inspection.  Very rarely do you ever hand them the keys and leave in any lease.
