Wtf marketing deception is that??? Having the guy next to the game for size comparison makes it look like the game is 6 feet high not 12 inches, so I guess the consumer should assume the guy is Ant-Man?  I guess it makes you read the description to confirm that it is actually too good to be true... But somehow it still pisses me off.

i played the asteroids example at our walmart.

quick thoughts:

-too small, covered a bunch here...
-artwork has zero protection.
-collision engine is horrendous.
-buttons didn't work correctly (what was marked on the game, different buttons were needed to achieve), spinner already broken...can write that off as store example, but still.
-the sound switch, on high, was poor for a home environment. could barely hear anything in a quiet store.

i only played asteroids and major havoc, 30 seconds on each game. both poor compared to my experiences with the real machines. your mileage may vary. :)

i can only imagine the crazy amount of classic arcade toys out this year, will double the original's prices...good for owners, bad for enthusiasts. ;D

I just got back from Walmart, too, and to kill time I rocked the high score on Galaga. Just like your game, K7, the artwork is already eroded away. Controls were responsive enough, but I didn't feel like I was playing the real thing at all. The button did not fire as fast as I need it, and the joystick did not look like it would take long-term abuse. Plus, the screen glare was too much, and the lights in the store were a mile high.

I craned my neck down the entire game, and the cabinet was already on a shelf six inches off the ground. The cabinet was far below IKEA quality (and I am a big IKEA fan). Overall, it was like playing with a child's toy, and that's who should be getting this under the tree this Christmas. However, the guy in the Photo department told me it's been mostly adults stopping to play it! So it's a toy dads will give kids, then get on their knees and push them away from it. Go figure.

You have only one life to live. Spend the money on the real thing.

Saw this on Facebook, apparently it's the Pac-Man version priced @ $75.

With all the discounts being thrown on these things so shortly after launch I can only imagine they are a flop.

$75.00 at walmart, and i assume walmart "markets" them, but doesn't pay for them up front? maybe a commission paid to the maker as each 1 sells, or a commission to walmart?

if not...puts the cost to walmart at what? 40 bucks each unit? just curious...clearance after a month is sad. these will be at big lots! for 50 bucks in 6 months, just like big games did ($200, though)

i'd get asteroids for 75 bucks. that's a year of gas in my crx, but whatever. :P
