Tips to score MET
« on: April 19, 2019, 11:53:26 AM »
I played MET for the 1st time this week.
I had a 10mn game, with 4 multiballs, most of them thanks to the coffin. I ended up with 25 millions, which seems lame.
Any simple tips to score more heavily? Thx  :D

Simple tips:

Easiest first multiball is at the cross. 4 shots

Use the multiballs to collect all of the requirements to light Crank it Up at scoop.

Use coffin to bring in a second multiball

Don’t forget about the fuel targets to light 2x play field at left target lane. Once active hit back up the lane to reset timer.

Lots of other points and strategies but that’s a start to get you some higher scores above 25 MIL

Enjoy

I've topped 100M. The only way to get there is with multiballs and Crank It Up. And Crank It Up alone can be worth 25M or much more. When you get into multiball, stay there as long as you can because there are no real "modes" in Metallica so it's all about jackpots and Crank It Up.

Crank it Up: There are 4 large inserts at the bottom of the playfield.

Switch, Snake, Coffin, Cross

Hitting those objects on the playfield enough times, or collecting them via lit inserts on the major shots (notice the snake, switch and cross on the major shots) lights Crank it Up at the scoop.  This will be a blue light. Hit the scoop and then select the song you want to play during Crank it Up-which has its own set of rules for each song. Or or you can immediately take the 5MIL, but CIU is worth more usually-assuming you don't drain quickly.

CIU can be repeated in the game until ultimately you reach End of the Line, but right now we are just trying to break the 25MIL barrier right? :)

Yes :)
I said Coffin instead of Cross in my 1st message, this is how bad I know the game... really love those inline drop targets!

Ah, ok.  You can still use Cross multiball to advance CIU and hits for Coffin.

Coffin is just hitting the captive ball/block (depending on game version) multiple times.

Don't forget you can earn one add a ball after hitting the 4 guitar picks and then hitting a ball into the snake's mouth.  This will also give you 2x scoring for 20 seconds.

What is end of the line in MET?  I have completed Cross, Sparky, Snake, and Coffin...but do not seem to remember this.

End of the Line is the wizard mode.

You need to do more than start those 4 mutliballs.  You need to start all 4 Crank It Up modes, re-qualify Crank It Up again and hit the scoop to start End of the Line.  VERY difficult to do!

The closest I've been was starting the 4 Crank It Ups and was working on the 5th.

Good luck!
