Thou shall not covet thy neighbors football!  :P

Especially after the monkeys are done with it.

It sounds like it's it's not booting so it's probably not getting +5V DC.  That's where I'd start looking.  The problem could either be on the driver board, at the CPU or anything in between...header pins, connectors, etc.

No disrespect to my colleagues, but there are too many monkeys f-ing this football already so I'll leave the rest to you guys.  LOL

Too late, your already here, finish what you start, lol.     ;D

fred will have it running in 15 minutes.  :) unless a board fried...then 17 minutes.

post results. or i'll ask him. just to close out the failure and the repair.

there's a working no fear at the shop. same boardset. i called eric, here's how that one boots, just for comparison to yours:

power up, nothing.

couple seconds, the backbox GI and playfield GI come on at the same time. less than a second later, the DMD comes on "testing". after that, the bong...

i tried my totan and cirqus, but they boot up completely different and they don't match the world cup soccer boardset.

good luck. :)

driver board, red 120 volt input wire connection...burnt up. no power. no boot.  ;D

new plugs crimped into the harness. was along the path i was thinking, but i wasn't thinking that was where power was being dropped.

I just love a good pinball mystery. Out of all my Williams games, my WCS94 used to give me the most headaches to get it running.
