Star Trek: Discovery Season 3
« on: October 16, 2020, 12:40:43 AM »
it's no longer star trek, seems the federation has fallen, and Barnham is stuck all alone ( for now ) ..

First Episode had some new races, new planets, and some old races...

All new tech, everything she had on her person was "a relic".

Looking forward to something "new" .. 931 years in the future, seems the federation fell ~ 120 years earlier, and all dilithium crystals some how "exploded" across the space destroying most space vesels.

I just don't like her character at all.
I've tried.
Anyone else have a hard time with her being the star of the show? She was good when she was on Walking Dead but this isn't Walking Dead.

I hated Walking dead, Thought it was horrible.. The Pin was horrible too :D

She is OK, but yeah, she isn't Star Trek(ish) ... again, i think my first sentence clearly stated no longer star-trek...  I enjoy Mary Wiseman role as Tilly the most, followed by Michelle Yeoh.. Shazad Latif isn't too bad...

I assumed going forward 900+ years, would allow them to break from traditional star trek roles, so hopefully they can pull it off.

thanks for reminding me this was back.
Ok,So starfleet is not Gone but not what it was due to dilithium crystals some how "exploded" ! Got it . Still a mystery at this point .
Where is the Ship Discovery ? Mystery .
So M.B crashes into this Praying Monks Space ship which also needs dilithium crystals (hmnn) , Glad to see more men of Color because hey we need More diversity in TV land (sigh, like it really is a thing). And So monk guy works for PETA and Steals cargo that is a a space manatee named Molly and returns it to a safe planet, yay.
then we meet an Ancestor of an old Starfleet officer(Middle East type actor again diversity) that's not officially Starfleet because no Commissioned Officers were remaining to do this however when the Liaison Aditya Sahil looks for her ship he mentions 2 active StarFleet vessels and MB does not ask Which ships in which i was curious and would have asked and why the Officers of those ships who Must be commissioned Officers did not do it .
So 2 Starfleet ships left and an Uncommissioned Liaison is what remains of Starfleet .Got it.

Not a bad Start,Not great but it is StarTrek to me ,a lot more than that Of FamilyGuyStarTrek Lower Decks and will continue this journey as there is not much Hope left for Better Treks  :D
The Spocks Sister thing and her as an Actor does not bother me one bit and she pulls it off acting like a Human taught on Vulcan would act.

yep, 100% agree, i didn't catch the 2 star fleets ships in range.. yeah, why didn't he reach out to them??? in the beginning it showed him "listening" for signals? what was he listening for?

i do like the PETA friendly space cargo pirate guy.. his cat is pretty cool too.
