LOTR ballrog tricks

Anyone have any tricks of the trade to make the Ballrog register hits better?

Mine works OK but at times even if I nail it center I dont get credit which makes the fellowship mutliball harder to finish.. I need to hit it ten more times then I should.

I have heard replacing the switch all the way down to just cramming a piece of paper into the switch the keep the distance for closing it less.

Anyone have any success with any particular method??

Seems replacing the Balrog switch would be the way to go.

Also, pick up some spare fork/Y-switches for the VUKs.  Those switches are mega-flakey.
