It is with great sadness I make this post on behalf of Dona, and Dan, PinDan on the board here from Sarasota.
Dan, has been quietly battling Cancer for the last year, and is now resting on Hospice Care.
I cant begin to share how hard this hits home for me, and many other Villagers, that have shared time at Dans House,
or his effervescent personality at shows and gatherings.
My hope, is to ask for your prayers, and if you feel up to it, to shoot Dan a PM, or email.
He is not taking phone calls, so please respect this.
He may or may not reply, but I feel he would love to hear from many of you at this time.

Very sorry to hear this. He and I have been in touch several times over the past year, but not for a few weeks. He was hoping for a new treatment to work. Sadly, it appears it has not so far. He has been a good, albeit distant, friend and he has borne his suituation with dignity and grace. A hell of a good man who will be missed, should things not take a turn for the better.

When we visited him a few weeks back he seemed like he was doing better and was in good spirits. It was hard to hear he slipped backwards some. Hopefully he will improve and start his new treatment.
If you read this Dan get better soon so I can play you on your Silver Strike again.

Dan is one of my very best village friends and he's a class act.
I love him dearly and am very saddened by all of this news.
I am hopeful something good will happen but the prayers and well wishes should continue.

Praying for Dan and his family. Thanks Art and let us know what we can do to help.

I have known his condition for over a year, and he had always asked to keep it on the down low, the fact this has been posted indicates he is not doing well, he will always be in my prayers.

Sad news, I hope all works out for Dan and family.

Dan was one of the first people I have met in this hobby. Very nice and open to talk pinball to. He is a tough old bird, stay strong and beat this.
-
Dan, you are in my prayers. Your friend Dave.

Dan and I spent our summers (60's, 70's) at our cottages in Indiana (Lake George), I knew most kids on the lake but had never met him then. Believe we met at Ron's or one of the shows down here, small world. Stay strong bud, I have another close friend battling the same stuff, both in my prayers.

Very sad to discover this on his Facebook page today, his wife Dona posted this:
Dan is in hospice and resting peacefully. They have him heavily sedated for the pain. The doctor's give us updates daily - all I can say is heart is strong and his lungs are good. It is just day to day, moment to moment. Cancer is a nasty disease. All I can say is no one should be going through what he is. It breaks our heart every time we are with him.

My heart is broken too.
Dan doesn't deserve this.

Thoughts and prayers going out to Dan and Family.
