'76 Target Alpha, with possibly the most diversely used playfield of all time. Used in El dorado, Gold Strike, Lucky Strike, , Canada Dry, Solar City ,and '84 Eldorado City of Gold ,all with identical layout but different artwork. Game was bought last year at the Miami auction by K7 as my proxy and game did not disappoint. great backglass, great playfield with no wear through the paint and a very good cabinet that shows a bit of its age. This machine is in way above average shape then EM's of that period and plays like new. New caps, lane guides, locks and a brand new back door,
all bulbs work, sockets cleaned and bulbs changed as necessary. rubber set replaces about 3 months ago.
set for free play.
this is a great machine and quite challenging with 15 drop targets. game will occasionally make you want to pull out your hair!
asking 600$ which is about what i have in it. that's about 100$ above Boston pinball's chart and condition warrants price. I'm offering up here first before i turn it loose on the wolves of Craig's list and ebay which id rather not do. you will NOT be disappointed in this game.
thanks

really cool game, I helped Pimp score a nice one, would like one as the art is just neat :) great game, good seller!
-
just so there is NO confusion the playfield does have some flipper drag marks. i do not want any misunderstandings here. after all it is a 1976!
-
i picked this up for weeze...i have a couple of pics i'll try to dig up, if he wants me to put them up. :)
i had 3 target alphas that day to choose from, and was able to pick the nicest one. minor, and i mean minor flipper drag is about all i remember for issues. the backdoor was missing, which weeze has added, and the glass was very very nice, as was the playfield.

Can't stop playing....chimes hypnotizing....must drop all targets....
Just wanted to drop a quick thanks to weeze and creature7 for this "Holy $#!+" pin! John, it was great meeting you and your sweet pup, and thanks for making this available! I'm REALLY happy with the pin, and it was everything you told me it was! And thanks goes to Kelley as well, for being my "pin-broker" and calling and pm-ing weeze while we were sitting around shooting the breeze at work ;)

No problem! I'm glad you are happy with it. Cool machine that I almost picked up for myself. I love the backglass. I will have to get down to your place soon to check out your updated collection.

I'm glad you are pleased with the game. i tuned those chimes for optimum ring! its getting a lot harder to find ems in really good shape. the glasses have long outlived what they were originally were planed for and if the machines gone through a yahoo's hand that doesn't believe in wax.........................
it was good to meet you folks and of course what great timing from my neighbor who just happened to show up at loading time! a rop of the hat to K7 who scored that beauty.
HAVE FUN! that's what they re made for and thanks for such a pleasent transaction.

Just looked at this game on IPDB and love the backglass and playfield art. I picked up a Eldorado City of Gold populated playfield about 10 years ago and I am still in quest of a complete machine or something similar to put it in. They are almost identical, as Weeze stated. Like all them drop targets.

It's a cool game that the PF has been recycled in a number of times.
Solar City and Target Alpha have bonus count downs.
El Dorado (replay) / Gold Strike (add a ball) (wedgeheads 1p) have the rollover that moves the spot for 5k. Also, nice thing about the wedgeheads, though they may not have the bonus, the drop targets stay down between balls. The TA/SC, on the other hand resets the drops between every ball, even if only playing a 1p game.
I've never seen an El Dorado City of Gold, pics looks pretty interesting, very influenced by Raiders of the Lost Ark / Indy., wonder how the sounds are on it?
Of the EMs, they're all super fun and I've owned all 3 incarnations of the game (SC/TA/El D) and definitely prefer the El Dorado (though would drop it like a hot potato for a AAB Gold Strike).

The artwork on El Dorado City of Gold is really nice, very detailed, keeper for me. Missed out on a game in Carolina about 3 years ago, sorry I did because very few were made.

geeze, as i said earlier , i really didntg want to part with it but it was a question of space. i am glad its gone to a good home and someone who appreciates a solid em, but all you folks talking about it makes me feel freakin worse about parting with for god's sake. BUT, i will agree with BREWMIESTER that of all its incarnations , a gold strike is the one. good luck finding a nice one of those at any sort of remotely reasonable price. i think they are all sitting in the same storage unit of that greatest of all hoarders , stacked up with a bunch or pristine gottlieb dimensions. and bally fathoms....................
