Title: Nanao Monitor shut off during play
Post by: EVAWINGZERO on January 06, 2013, 10:08:50 PM
While playing my Blast City today, my monitor decided to shut itself off. Over the past few weeks, I had noticed that  when I turned the power on to the cab, sometimes the monitor wouldn't power up. After turning the cab off, then back on, it would kick in and turn on.

I had the cab running for a few hours during one of our weekly Street Fighter gatherings, and while some people were playing on it, it shut down.

The monitor will not turn on now.

Any idea on where to start troubleshooting?

original tri-res ? if so, most likely chassis is dead, only 1 person can fix, and that is jomac in Australia, you would need to contact him first, jason (immyrem) sent off his chassis after a six month venture of finding a replacement flyback.

This monitor I had bought from Mick a long while back. This is a newer (1999 manufacture date) Tri-Res.

This is the one that I believe came out of a Sega Racing game you had. It's a Tri Res I believe, not just a VGA only.

I pulled the original Monitor chassis out of the cab and put this one into it.

Maybe it is VGA only.... Sorry for the bad pics, hard to take pics while the monitor is still mounted :)

If you have a chassis that will work with this, I'll gladly snag it from you!   Thanks!

With this cab being down....I guess I should wire it properly..... Don't laugh at the ghetto 360 wiring :)

Gotcha. I really appreciate it.  Before we go that route, is there anything I should look for on this one?

I believe there is a small fuse on this chassis, right?

Looks like it may be my Power Supply. I plugged the monitor in directly to my Surge protector with a cable Mick gave me and it fired right up. I've had it on for an hour now with it plugged in and it's working fine.

I'll let you know if it keeps acting up. Thanks again for the info.

my monitor wouldn't turn on in one of my cabs and it ended up being a bad connection on the monitor out pin on the jamma harness.
