So the wheels on my lift cart finally cracked and broke apart during my move. Curious if anyone else has done any mods to the wheels to make it easier to go over the thresholds and handle bumps? Thinking about doing a lift kit for this thing and put some big tires on it. Anyone else try it?

Are you using the 500 lb capacity or 1000 lb capacity? I'm using the 500lb model and the front casters just bolt to the frame so they can likely be upsized without too much trouble. I was going to talk to a local shop that does metal work and welding to see what they would charge to replicate/weld same attachment plate to rear of frame so back casters can be upsized to match the front. I made a mod to hinge the handle of the 500lb model about eleven years ago and just replaced that table with a new one a few weeks ago but I've never tried to mount larger casters/wheels and I'm going to check it out.

I am using the 500lb model, and also did the handle mod years ago. It would be easy enough to change out the fronts for larger casters but then something has to be done with the rear to either add a plate as you suggest or some other mod to allow for a larger wheel. When I jack the table all the way to the top with the current wheels it is about 1" short of the tailgate on my avalanche so I was thinking if I can put some bigger wheels on it might be easier going in and out of the house as well as get me over the lip of the tailgate on the truck.

There is an excellent thread on pinside showing a bunch of get and not so great mods to this lift. I haven’t had time to mod mine but there are a couple I want to do. At least one has wheel mods.

I ended up just replacing the wheels with 4inch wheels, by swapping out the metal sleeve. Didn't want to have to get into welding on the cart and couldn't find larger casters that would fit otherwise.
