GB update is (finally) here. I find it nice, with much needed code polishing. That's the 1st time I own a Stern game and I can really tell about the "before & after". But at first, I thought "yeah cool, but 3 years for this?" (I didn't wait 3 years as I own it for just 6 months)
And then, I tried the table set in God mode. And I think that's exactly what I expected from a modern pinball: to have the option for a completly different gaming experience with the same machine.
I know Stern gets a lot of bashing from Pinside & co, but I think we should all remember even the biggest pinball company is still a small player in the gaming industry and we should be thankful for what they've done and what they keep doing.
Ho, and if you don't have it, the Mudflaps version of the code is a must for the musics: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/ghostbusters-custom-code-v116-pro-amp-premium#post-5231466

Agreed, the more polished code games keep getting the closer we are to having Stern replicate these features to their other titles like Munsters.

What is "god mode"?
-
from stern:
- Added GOD MODE adjustment.
- The settings are NORMAL or GOD MODE. The game defaults to NORMAL.
- If set to GOD MODE, when you start a game you will start at the begining
of "We Are Ready To Believe You" wizard mode. You can add players or you
can plunge the ball. Plunging the ball will start the multiball.
- If you complete "We Are Ready To Believe You" you will start "ARE YOU A
GOD?". When "ARE YOU A GOD?" ends your game will end.
- If you do not complete "We Are Ready To Believe You" the game will end.
- Added a GOD MODE champion. If the game is set to NORMAL this will not be
seen in the attract mode.
- If GOD MODE is enabled you cannot MATCH, win a replay, or qualify for
other high scores champions.

Hmm, sounds interesting, but is it really something you would play by default? Sounds like it would get old.
-
every pinball gets old. you have to juggle them. ;D

Sure, but it's still a fun mode if you like total chaos multiballs and challenge (I mean even more challenge from GB).
Too bad you can't choose between a regular game or this mode without going in the adjustments, it would be a good earning option for routed pinballs.
