Didnt see this coming although I knew they were going to rerun the game. :P
Pretty cool although for me I would take the movie art since I have no real love of the comic book stuff.
Either way be interesting to see what people think... seems to be a love it or hate it kinda game so not sure how much new art will sell it.

So that must be the rumored vault they were going to do ?

They are doing vaults of a game that just came out now? :P

its odd that's for sure but all I could guess

I guess thats the deal... you would think they would hit an out of production game like the walking dead
I guess easier to produce something that has just been ran...
Interesting idea anyways so be interesting to see if people bite.
Doesnt change the game at all and the game itself is great but a bitch to play and learn so its an acquired taste already.

i like the comic book art option.
the star wars premium is not made anymore, so the vault option is there. they do make normal artwork star wars pro still...

What about the unknown comic?

They would sell more vaults if they also added a new code update and a new topper.

Whatever happened to Gene Gene the Dancing Machine?
I like the comic art better than the original. There is an original pro by me and no matter how I try this is one of those games I just can't get into and I love Star Wars.
If I were to ever get one I would want the comic art,

The code on Star Wars (by Stern standards) is great... problem is it is not walk up and play friendly at all.
I disliked the game until I got one now I think its one of the best Sterns from the last few years.
The code may be an acquired taste with the moving multipliers and choose your character and all that but once you know what to do there is all kinds of risk reward and options in the game.
The game plays fast and hard but without spending hours learning the code makes no sense.. when you "get it" though its pretty great.
Its a great home game because its tough as nails and hard to learn... for an arcade and casual play? not so much.

Anything to increase sales on this title
They need to do more then artwork
It's not a very fun game at all just a boring layout
But hey everybody has there own opinion
I wouldnt go that far as one of sterns best in the last few years

Well it is an opinion. everyone is different.
Problem is it’s a fast game to begin with and the code is hard to learn. If you play it 20 times you are going to say the game sucks. :P I did the same thing.
That is pretty much where stern screwed up… if any game should be easy to play and learn it should be star wars so people can enjoy it that aren’t pinball people.
I looked at reviews and those guys at Buffalo pinball put a few plays on it and trashed it when it came out. You could tell from the review that they had no idea how the game worked and no way you could from a few games. One of their gripes was no bozo multiball… why cant I hit 3 shots and get multiball? Pretty dumb for “pinball guysâ€
In my opinion after playing every single recent stern quite a bit its one of the best games… it’s a hard game but if you take the time its all there. and no i dont work for stern.

Did someone try the home version?
I like this version much better than the original ones, which remind me too much of the Stern "photoshop" era.
I can of agree that it is a strange strategy to not make SW a friendly user table. And Munsters, which seems a true pinhead theme, a shallow code game.
But with so many releases, Stern is offering something for everyone, which is great for a hobby which almost died few years ago.
-
The home SW is good, the gameplay is fun, the R2 ball lock is nice & simple. Good pin, maybe I should buy one...

Home version is a very fun game, especially competitive with the carryover ball locks, and the metal ramps & wire forms are satisfying to shoot.
There’s enough going on that Stern’s put together a rule sheet for it!

I'm probably never going to be sold on the home version, makes a lot more sense to just buy a used 'full' version.
For what it's worth though i think the comic art version looks great! If i was going to get a SW i'd go for the comic version.

Id look at it this way... if you like pins like BSD and iron man that will kick your ass then get the pro.
If you like easier games then the home one is way more friendly.
Ive played both and they are both fun but have totally different playability.

I'd didn't really care for SW when I played it.. The pro version that is. If I wanted a star wars pin though I'd probably go with the DE version over the home model.
Those home models just seem like a rip off and certainly they will tank in value down the road.

data east star wars is one of the clunkiest pinballs i can remember. and again...shell out $5000.
comic book art for the win. on every title ever.
and they're re-running original artwork star wars premiums? because < 2 months ago, they were not. :P

i don't have a favorite. favorites make you broke. ;D
love metallica. ac/dc artwork could be a bigger home run with no band member images used.
and stern: please don't make a ryan reynolds deadpool. you done good with comic book on that one. ah you no touch. ;)
-
This whole thing is a bit confusing to me anyways.
You would figure anyone who is into star wars already has one... and are they going to dump theirs to get a new one at full price? doubt it.
Also the game itself is a bitch.. its fun but the bigger knock on the game is how hard it is so not sure who they are trying to make happy here just re-skinning it.
To me the new pro looks better then the original but the premium the movie art is already really good for the cabinet. The yellow and orange premium looks goofy to me.
The comic playfield is cooler but doesnt really go with the movie themed display anyways.
Just not really sure who they are trying to appeal to....
-
Well, in a very short time they have done the Pin and now the comic art. Stern obviously considers they were still a lot of SW fans who were still hesitant to bring a pinball at home.
The original art, without being ugly, was completly lacking of creativity.

Maybe they are losing the license soon so they wanted to pump out as much as they could before that happens?
Star Wars itself is at an all-time low popularity wise so probably not the best time to be doubling down on it but what can you do.
-
Since I was accused of pumping this game up because I own one :P
One the better known pinball you tube talking heads shows had their best games of all time list.
Not recent games only... this is all time favorites and both had the game on there.
To me its a bitch like iron man but with better rules... I was an early adopter on iron man and that game got trashed too now its top 10 for most players.

Ha good point. I didnt watch the whole thing someone sent it to me.... its a personal preference list. :P
Id give them 5 of those combined.
I still think Star Wars is a game that gets a ton of shit I think will be appreciated later like iron man.
Tourney players dont like it because it has tons of side to side and you have to use the "action button" and wack the 3 bank target constantly which they hate. Ball is out of control allot.
Casual players dont like it because your game will be over in under 2 minutes. It has zero walk up and play a few games fun about it.
