So, Chicago Gaming is no longer going to remake the Williams/Bally Games, looks like PPS has selected a new manufacture out of Country, no mention of having a US plant.
Press Release:
Pedretti Gaming (Pedretti) and @Planetary Pinball Supply Inc. (PPS) announce the next level of their relationship:
1) New Remake Stream of Games, both mainstream titles and boutique (multi-year, multi-game)
2) PPS and Pedretti to tightly collaborate on game development to accelerate Time to Market and provide the highest quality product.
3) More parts and assemblies to be available and better access to PPS parts in Europe
New Remake Games coming:
Pedretti to partner with PPS to develop a series of evolved remake games over a multi-year period
Goal of announcing 1 remake every 12 months
Initial Game has been in development thru 2023 for announcement and release in 2024
Several more games are in progress now
High Level of Collaboration:
PPS to function as parts sourcing and game development partner to Pedretti to help accelerate and ensure the quality of the parts and assemblies
Pedretti will have access to Blueprints, Artwork, and PPS owned WMS tooling required for the games it will be remaking
PPS will utilize its large inventory of in-stock WMS/BLY parts as well as supplier network to work on pre-production game development with Pedretti
Games will use Genuine WMS/BLY parts and mechanisms as well as a focus on imperial (standard) fasteners and dimensions
Pedretti will be the overall responsible party for the development, manufacturing, and distribution of the remake games
Pedretti will drive game design, code, artwork, and overall game production
Pedretti will also cross source parts with PPS which will ensure multiple and best options for parts based on WMS IP
FAST Pinball will be the remake game platform for control system PCBs, game emulation, lighting & game feature extensions, and engineering & software support.
Euro Pinball Corp (EPC) will be the production partner and facility, based in Italy
More Options for Parts and Game Sales:
PPS will be a reseller of Euro Pinball Corp (EPC) including Pinball Brothers games and Parts in the US
Pedretti will open an online parts and accessories store and will stock PPS Genuine WMS/BLY Parts.
PPS’s working relationships with Chicago Gaming and Haggis Pinball (as well as others that are not public) has NOT changed. This agreement with Pedretti expands the titles that we can introduce into the market as well as improves time to market with PPS pre-producing parts and assemblies for upcoming titles.

OK, there were rumors about Pedretti for upcoming wb remakes.
So we could expect FH & WW remakes / 2.0 ; full games not only conversion kits.
The elephant is the room is what about the reruns of mmr afmr mbr?
-
well, the f.a.s.t system is way better then the setup current design cg was using, the question is, will the continue to use the design cg was using, or go more traditional f.a.s.t ( fyi, f.a.s.t is very simular to p.r.o.c )

Pedretti Gaming and Planetary Pinball Partner to Create New Remakes of Classic Williams Bally Pinball Machines
As I hinted at in an article the other day, this afternoon Pedretti Gaming and Planetary Pinball, Licensee of Williams Electronic Games, are scheduled to officially announced a new multi-year agreement for Pedretti to manufacture remakes of Williams Bally pinball machines. These new games will be released at a pace of approximately one per year and they will be manufactured at the Euro Pinball Corp. (EPC) factory.
Pedretti's first Remake title has not been officially announced yet, but it has been in development throughout 2023 and it is scheduled to release in 2024 (I've heard Q1, but that date is subject to change). FAST Pinball will create the boards used in these new machines.
Planetary Pinball will become an official distributor for Pinball Brothers and Pedretti pinball machines for the U.S. market. In addition to designing new remakes, Pedretti will open an on-line store to sell genuine Williams Bally pinball parts.
Planetary Pinball has made a point to emphasize that this new deal will not affect its existing relationship with Chicago Gaming Company (CGC) or Haggis Pinball. I've heard that CGC has at lease one more Remake up its sleeve in addition to additional non-remake titles like Pulp Fiction and others coming in the future.
The new Pedretti deal is intended to reduce the time it takes and increase the number of new remakes of classic pinball machines that Planetary can bring to market. Congratulations to both Companies. As far as I'm concerned, the more pinball out there the better! I can't wait to see what game Pedretti has up first. I have no insight whatsoever as to what the first title is, but on a personal level I'd love to see Tales of the Arabian Nights (my wife's favorite), Theatre of Magic or Cirqus Voltaire remade. All three have fairly high values on the used market and none of them are licensed, so they seem like low-hanging fruit to me.

Same as the PR I posted direct from Pedretti .

Correct, as originally posted in the Press Release.

Supposedly CGC can still make those
I would assume the licenses for any old games made by CGC would stay in place as long as those agreements were not time/date/quantity limited, as PPS still has working relations with CGC as per the Press Release, it is unknown if that relationship will allow them to continue to remake those titles, it would of been nice if that was stated in the PR... but as the PR included several companies, and all companies had to agree to the wording, I assume it was omitted.

Whatever version of MMr has a 10K+ market value. It's hard to understand from a business point of view why CGC has not produced any recently if they still have the license to do so. Same for AFM et MB. Why would they invest in developing new titles when the market is still in hungry for these 3 titles with zero R&D costs?

Good q
One of the mysteries of the universe

I know CGC has very slow production, on the other end Stern will soon be out of appealing titles to keep its new mega production site busy, so...

CGC is just too slow and they likely needed someone out there whose willing to help get more money out of these licenses. CGC is already stated as being 3 months behind schedule on the start of their Pulp Fiction production and I wouldn't be surprised if this number keeps growing.
-
Not sure if this is good or bad? While CG had slow production, they had a good quality product that (in my experiences) they stood behind their product.
Any speculation on what the next remake will be?
And, with the Pinball market in the toilet, will they be able to survive the long game now? I guess we'll see.
Merry Christmas everyone... :)
-
everyone jumping into the party pool 3 years too late. :P
-
Yep, CGC may actually be the only one survivor if the market stays down for several years.

Production issues, and or rise in costs/drop in profit margin which is why anyone tries to farm out their production somewhere else.
It's basically a sign that whatever they were doing doesn't really work or has issues for sustainable growth.
Most times companies do this when its already too late... :P

the general post covid want want want pricing surge is going to take a hit with inflation soon, i personally starting to see a trend on used item prices dropping as people are pinching pennies, but many pinch pennies during the holidays, so will have to wait a few more months to see what the financial outlook comes.
-
Pretty common with businesses... everything tends to be cyclical.
When things are going great you can get away with allot of mis-management and still make it work, during good times companies tend to get sloppy and have no ability to reign it in to survive a downturn.
Human nature is to try and fix something well after it was needed.
My hope for them is this is a proactive move and not a last ditch one but my guess would be it's more of a hail mary.

No one can make any sense of the economy because at this point it literally makes no sense.
Bullshit rules and the answer to every problem is to hit the money printer and pump out more money (with nothing to back it up of course).
