hi all
I am working on a Data East simpsons. The game isnt holding settings. I checked the batteries and they are good. not sure what else to check. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Measure from the ground braid on the machine to the positive end of each battery and the last one should read 4.5 V or higher. If you’re not getting that reading, then one of the batteries has a corroded terminal on it and you need to clean it. I would strongly suggest you get the Eram put in, so you don’t have to worry about replacing batteries again.

check the voltage on the ram when the game is off, you probably have a failed diode.

Thanks fellas. Gonna relocate the battery pack as it is needed. Then check the voltages. Thanks for the help

New battery pack fixed it. Thanks again.

ya, battery packs look good, but are failed more oftan than not...it's the duracell effect.
cheap easy-to-solder fix with a new replacement.
