Post by: RussG on July 20, 2025, 01:26:24 PM
Waiting for his review of this season's simp fest.
Painful start with some extra cheese.
Oh how sad things are becoming.

I hope they tie Dr. Korby back into creating clones.  Lots to refresh with that now.

His Review: "It's trash"

Well I wouldn't call whatever they are putting out under the Star Trek name as Star Trek at this point.

A few clips from the new season showed up on Youtube.. it's the first I've ever seen of Strange New Worlds. It looks more like a parody than anything else. And why can't they make anything these days without trying to shoehorn Spock into it? Are they that creatively bankrupt (yes, yes they are). I mean seriously is there a single show they've done without Spock as a character somehow?

Anyhoo Foundation is back on and I hear Orville is finally getting another season.. maybe.. one day.

If I want to watch actual Star Trek though.. there's like 3 channels of Reruns of TOS, DS9, TNG and Voyager on Pluto TV

I would agree with Mr. Six..

My review, Episode 1 was good, but Episode 2.. WTH.. no, stop it with the pre-qual rehash..

I get that this takes place right before TOS, and it hold WAY more true to TOS then Scott Backula's Crap Enterprise ever did.

Also, the GORN...  You can't introduce a species in a prequal and add new things about them that is not later known in the series.. so, we can do X to make them go by by.. but yet, Kirk Deals with them in Arena? Did we not learn anything about the Gorn in the 5-7 years that passed since Pike's Encounter?

The should be introducing new species, that will die or never be mentioned again in any post SNW time line.

This is where Discover and the Mirror Universal worked as its all new content, or content in a future timeline...

Prequals are always hard to make, and they need to tread lightly... the fact that now you know who has appeared... kind of breaks things up, because that person/race is never mentioned between now and TNG...

last two episodes were good, we saw some Capt Kirk early day(s) before he was a captain.

I have given up thinking any modern tv show is actually good, they are all trash, so i keep the bar low.

Not sure anyone could have. I been strange new worlds fan of New Pike since Gaycovery series when pike first showed up . Maybe the only Discovery I liked ,   Big fan of season one , then this . Season 2 ,

I also have a low bar now Hammy . The Kirk episodes were not that good . New Kirk before season two was good, now he questions himself after how arrogant and confident he was season 1 and gaycovery episodes. Sorry not buying it and downplaying his manhood is unacceptable. Man =Bad /shit got to stop.

Soon the muppets episode is going to hit . We are having puppet retro reruns now .  Fubar season 2 with puppets , puppets better have diversity, can’t be all white puppets! Oh man

Probably the thing I think is the saddest about NuTrek is they simply cannot get beyond regurgitating previous shows.

Everything has to be TOS or TOS adjacent.. unless they go wild and try to ape on TNG in a spinoff. Rumor is there's an Archer series coming down because of course that makes no sense.

Is it because these modern writers don't understand Star Trek so they are just keep repeating the same characters? Or is it because they can't come up with anything good on their own so let's get the Nth iteration of Spock in this one because what else are we going to do?

Probably a combo of both.

+1 yeah, but then everything is just a recycle of another movie or tv show, nothing original.

Bring on the Korean romcom writers whom know trek write the new trek.
Big fan now of Korean content . I will read subtitles,no problems.!   Home town cha cha cha . My Demon , I can keep going on how many of these series/dramas are hands down brilliant and deep with mystery, characters and character development in which you can relate easy with most all of them and yanks your thoughts and emotions right out of you .
I mentioned romcom because this Nutrek is very love triangle all around with all its characters now. It’s more a space love story now .
Had enough of the Spock romance’s!!! Will we get an even earlier interracial Kirk , communication officer kiss!!!!! Pahlease.  Nope not yet Nyota uhura is getting hit on by Navigation Gal Ortegas baby brother !

I also heard rumor of spinoff of voyager .  Seems a lot of spinoff’s a happening!

Trek has always been about Space Love Stories..

It's a Man Version of a Soup Opera.

Sounds the same, just doesn't use the name Opera or Soap.

Star Trek was never primarily a romance.. Hammy is getting it confused with his stories he watches during the day.

I see clips occasionally of latest Strange New Worlds episode and it just looks.. pathetic. Like who is this for?
