I have the 2012 Avengers Premium and having a few issues.

 1. The machine often wont start because it "locating pinballs". I updated to the latest code as some people said that may help but still having the issues.

 2. THe scoop closest to the hulk usually takes twice to discharge the ball as it hits the upper ball drop and requires the second eject.

 3. Sometimes the game just stops. It still has power but the flippers are no longer functional.

1 & 3 are probably related to the trough, could be dirty optos, out of alignment, etc.  Clean & reseat the optos.

2 sounds like that coil mech needs to be adjusted.  Unscrew it from under playfield, inspect, possibly bend back to spec and reinstall.

All good ideas I've had this issue before and found the balls were magnetized and sticking together in the trough, change to a new set of balls.
Keep working at it and you will get it sorted out. I've had Avengers since nib and it will never leave my home. Top 3 for me.

own a Hulk since brand new. my notes:

 1. - install new pinballs.

 2. - they ALL do this. there's no fix. there's no need to.  :)

 3. - not a clue. could be related to magnetized pinballs like #1, and your ball trough gets "confused".

I did get new pinballs and it's still doing this after a short while. I know originally the game called for 6 pinballs but not sure if that's changed with the new code.

So I orderd new pinballs from Pinball Life and it's still saying it's locating pinballs. I notice that with the trough test that 16-22 are all registering. Doesn't that mean that it's showing an extra ball even though there is only 6?

Did you reseat the connectors for the optos at the trough?

I am still a little green on this but I took a look at the connectors and disconnected and reconnected some.

I also realized that it looks as if there are only 5 slots in the trough so I removed a ball. It does seem to be working better now thankfully.

for the record, was there an extra ball in there? it's a 6 ball game,no matter what code you have or use.

i never had the "locating pinballs" issue on my machine. but i have dealt with magnetized balls and issues
in other magnet games, with how they stacked up in the ball trough.

switch 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22 are for each ball. switch 16 is your start button switch.

I did put new pinballs in there I think I may have only put 5 so need to put on more. Haven't had an issues with it since but also made sure the connectors were tight.
