FS: Neo Geo 2 slot cabinet, no board
« on: March 08, 2011, 09:55:05 PM »
Well, here goes.  The same pup who was sick at the end of December needs some dental work done.  The poor thing had been abused and was pretty close to emaciated when we rescued her a year and a half ago.  She's missing some teeth due to how they treated her and she's in need of some dental work to fix some of it.  I'm now trying to raise money to pay for all of that.  So, I've decided to put my Neo Geo cabinet up for sale.  I really did not want to do this, but I still prefer my Blast City candy cabs over anything else.  I'd rather hold onto my work in progress and sell the Neo Geo, even though it'd be less.

It had a 2 slot board in it, which I recently sold.  There's a 25 inch monitor in it, new power supply from Twisted Quarter that's only a few months old, full harness...basically everything which would come with a full sized Neo Geo cabinet.

It does not have a board in it, as I mentioned.  The machine's condition itself is not bad.  The cabinet though, I'd say is a 5.5 out of 10.  Mostly the back has been treated rather poorly.  Some of the buttons that were on it were damaged, so I replaced them all with led buttons.  Yes, convex buttons on a Neo Geo machines instead of concave, oh my garsh!   :P

Here's the deal.  Take the machine as it is, led buttons, plus second power supply powering them for $130.  If you don't want the led buttons and power supply, $100 for the cabinet and you can have the dirty buttons it came with.  I'll use the led buttons in something else.

I'll be honest, the buttons are wired up so crappily, it's not funny.  I was in a hurry to get all the buttons working, so my nephews and I could play on it, that I didn't even bother to put the proper ends on the wires.  If you look under the control panel, it looks plain awful.  I never fixed the crappy wire job.

So that's it.  I haven't taken any pictures of the actual cabinet yet and need to head to bed.  Here are the pictures I do have and can take cabinet pictures tomorrow after work.

And a quick, kinda blurry picture of Bella on one of her beds with some of her toys.  She's filled out absolutely gorgeous.

Thank you Steve.  That's also similar to what I say to my wife every time I think about it.  And it seriously pisses me off every time too.  She's such a sweetheart and definitely didn't deserve the way she was treated.  I'm glad the neighbors of those people reported them and were jailed.  We'd get coverage for her to help us on her bills, but due to the way she was kept caged, her hips never developed properly and are actually missing.  So, she has an existing condition, which won't allow us to obtain coverage for her.  Instead, her muscles developed there over the whole area.  Now that we've nursed her back to health and all over the past year and a half, she can walk fine and run pretty well.  The vets were astonished when they saw her x-rays and couldn't believe her body adjusted like that.  She sometimes bunny hops when she runs.  It proves she has some hip issues, but it's also cute.  We do know we'll have to put her through hip replacement surgery some time later in her life.  Being that she's only 2 1/2, it won't have to happen for at least 5 more years.  Thankfully that's far enough away that we can save a little up a little at a time for it.  So yeah, she's in good hands and just needs some help with a few things.   :)  Here's another pic.  Our pups, Rusty and Bella.

Oh, by the way, the Neo Geo machine is tentatively spoken for by Mick.

This machine is sold.  Thank you again Mick and Bella thanks you as well!  I'm sorry for the couple areas that didn't show in the pics.  Hopefully you and your kids get your fun out of it.   :)
