Tron Open House: Sunday July 31st at 1pm
« on: July 23, 2011, 08:33:51 PM »
I'm having an open house Sunday July 31 for all Flips members who want to play the new tron LE. I'm in Coral Springs on 441 and Sample.  Depending on how many people show up there will be some kind of small tournament along with some causal play.  Send me a message if your interested in coming or send me an email at dan2574@gmail.com and I'll give you my address/directions.  Eric's official Flips get together is the following weekend so this will be just an informal get together.  This was the only day I could plan something so hope it's alright.

Thanks for the offer, Dan!  Not sure I can make it, but if there's a chance I'll let you know.

Thank you Dan!

Awesome time, very cool tourney with great prizes!

Congrats to:

Bryan B. for winning it all!  Brian D. for getting 3rd place, and Mark B for placing 4th-good job making it to the finals! (look how far the original SG has come!)

( BTW this writer got 2nd place :) )

However, I have to give high respect to my 12 yr old son, who

a) Put up the hurry-up high score on TRON (best score before 3:30) and his name on the leader board

and

b) Put up the GC on LOTR for his last game.  The room was quiet and we were just watching him kill the game.  Even won DTR.  Very impressive!

And who IMO, played the most consistently on TRON.  He had many solid scores and reached Sea of Simulation.

Makes a dad VERY PROUD! (and a bit fearful for my pinball future in the house-LOL)

It was a fun time!

Thanks a bunch, Dan.

The big question is, where am I going to put one of these TRON LE games? HA!

big thanks to dan. very awesome, nice design with a lot of new things the pro doesn't have, plus the HUGE fix in code over the prototype.

the pin had the freshezt 1.3 code on it, so most high scores were stock at the beginning of the afternoon. the high tron scores i heard of/saw were 101,000,000 (on code 1.1 by jeff) and 81,000,000 (jeff), with some mid 60 millions as well.

my high score was 8.2 million. my best score on proto tron was 29 million. so the newer the code, the worse i play. :-\

Yeah, what K7 said. About 81 MIL was my GC-not that high IMO considering the game seems it can break open scorewise during S.O.S. and the End of the Line Jackpots can be HUGE.  I did not play that many games on this pin.  A handful (4 or 5 today) I suppose and maybe another handful last week.  Extra balls are off.  Playing in a tourney setting gives a different vibe than casual play IMO.

At Curly's open house I had something in the 130's but the code was primitive.

I suspect if I had a session on TRON with just me playing (not 2-4 player games), things would increase over time. I have a general rule for myself where I need like 15-20 games to understand the feel, the shots, the feeds etc.  I don't always get that luxury :)  It sometimes takes me a while to get warmed up :)

But right now, that's where I am at with what I have available :)

Jeff, if you move your joker Poker over to my house, you will have plenty of room for Tron LE. :)  Sorry I could not make it, tough weekend.
