it was kind of a get-it quick with the payment. so i specified which Strikes i wanted exactly and paid for ron's glasses just to be sure to lock them in...before transport and all has even been finalized. didn't really like doing it that way, but it sounded like if i didn't grab the glasses quick, anyone who paid first would snag them.

i understand tom's viewpoint as well. he doesn't want to be left holding 20 glasses, to find out he ends up with 1 real person to buy only 1 from him.

i just reached out to pierce, he might be willing to pass the better flash to you, since you own the pinball (and have for a long time.)

Well, I did not want to buy it if I can't get it right away.  Then he would be stuck with it, waiting for me, so I chose to wait till I could find it a ride.  I guess in the future, I will put the seller out by letting him wait for me to come pick it up.

Ibis you're welcome to the better of the Flash glasses, esp if you've got a pin to stick it on. I'm just getting them for decor. I'll shoot Tom a message to get me the 2nd.

I am not sweating it at all, I just hated to buy it and have him have to babysit the thing. Yes, i have a Flash mine is ok but that one looks much better.  And i would say that mine is a little worse than the second one too. I would not want to snake it from you, thank you for the offer!!  Very cool of you!

if you work something out, i think i'm picking up 3 BGs from the auction. i can pick up flash as well (you can get it from me on your next miami run). or we could get it in jeff's hands also. he should show up at the auction right when it ends

Tom brought over today all the backglasses that have been purchased, and paid for, and will bring them to auction

The backglasses are in Mick's capable hands.  Wrapped as "protectively" as I could.  Most of them will need a coat of Tripple Thick to seal in the paint.  My op friend still has the rest of them.  If there is any interest in any of the others (I still need to get a picture of Dragon), I'll go back out and take pictures of the rest.

Thanks to Tom for making these available and to Mick and Chris for their assistance in getting these to the auction and then to my home.  It is good to have friends and fellow collectors who are willing to work together and help out.

Sorry to revive a dead thread, but thought I would add a postscript.  I picked up the Harlem Globetrotters glass because I thought it would look good on my wall.  After I got it, I found out that a local collector who does not frequent the boards had a game with a much worse backglass. So following my longstanding rule, the backglass is now back in action rather than on my wall.  Seems like a happy ending and I thought that those who helped with the glasses might like to know at least one made it back into a game (or will when he picks it up from me)

ron is emphatic that games get the best, and his pinball art wall gets 2nd choice. a hero for the pinball community.

wondering outloud if it went to the basket case harlem globetrotters located in lantana? another local hoarder, hoping to sell him a couple of titles and pick another projekt up.

my glass also cleaned up pretty well, fixed some flaking as best as i could, and it's hoarded away with all my other preciouses:

Hey Ron, getting the Globetrotters to someone who needs one is terrific; and K7, preserving one for future use is also waaaaaaaaaaay better than storing them in the loft of a non-climate controlled warehouse.  Just wish I could of got to them before the heat and humidity got to them.
