so i sticker bomb-ed some crx parts...

resto-mod...easy enough to reverse. thanks to hammer31 and weeze for the generous sticker packs.

didn't work on the mirrors at all, and had to prime and paint the interior gauge cluster cover to get them to stick. after this, my buddy stickerbombed his sportbike helmet...that came out pretty damm good.

not 100% sold on it, but the price and effort was right. :P (something about graffitti that i've always liked)

It's a good thing that you put Mod after Resto.   :P

Not really a fan of sticker bombing... maybe I just don't understand it?

People generally like stickers and put them on their cars if they mean something to them.  A small form of personal graffiti if you will.  If you sticker bomb something, it would seem you'd have to use so many stickers (and random ones at that) that the stickers loose all personal meaning.  If they have no meaning, then it just seems like it's trying too hard to look cool.  It's your car though, so as long as it makes you happy, that's what's important.

BTW, cool car... I love CRXs, especially red ones.     ;)

I'm restoring/rebuilding an CE1 Accord Wagon right now... which is a lot less cool than your CRX, so I'd probably go that direction if I were in your shoes.

Inspiration for you.... nicest CRX I've come across over the years.

ah, the 94-97 accord wagon. a great car with a lot of potential. i had a 95 4 door...now that is probably way away from what you're doing(i don't do altezza taillights...the stocks were on order when i took this picture):

wow, look at that red on that crx...i would be am tempted to paint mine and bring it back to it's glory, but it's a daily, so paint is way low on my list. i have done minor work to the engine and cleaned up the engine bay, but basically my goals with this one is just to maintain it as best i can.

i've always liked the sticker bomb look, just due to the fact it's very random. i've seen much better than my use of it, but i've seen much worse. my gauge cluster is cracked, so this was the main reason i did that piece, but just that...left the rest of the inside pretty much stock. and that cluster is annoying while driving. i keep a black shirt over it due to the reflection the stickers throw on the windshield when the sun hits them. the outside pillars can come off with no problem in probably 10 minutes (and they're just stock black plastic), and can revert the gas door. wasn't planning on posting anything, but wanted to give credit to hammer and weeze for the generousity from my "give me stickers" thread :D. i will have to grab some door panels down the road, already swapped out seats for perfect 94 EG seats, and have a decent eBay steering wheel. bored out the center on some miata lightweight wheels, and dropped it a bit.

i like keeping cars clean and as good as they should look on the dealer room floor, but just not in the cards for this one, yet... :)

best crx quality? cheap parts, cheap gas, simple to wrench on.

Seeing those pix makes me miss by '84 CRX.  My first "NIB" car and was well worth the $6599 sticker price.  It was the first year the car came out and you had three color options: red, white, or blue (I chose blue).  The only upgrade I had was I went with the 5 speed 1.5 liter instead of 1.3, which meant I also got a passenger side mirror.  It no air or radio.  I had people stop me ask me what I was driving since it was a new model.  The ex-wife hated the car which only made me like it more.   :)  Nice to see there are still a few CRX's around.  I always like seeing Dangerwil's when he pulls up to my house!

If anyone has a running CRX for sale, let me know. It doesn't have to be beautiful.

My younger brother is dying to find one and he just bought a complete POS that I made him sell for scrap. That thing was never going to run with his limited skillset.

Wow, you're Accord was LOW.  I love the plate... What air system were you running?  I'm not a fan of the altezzas either, but at least they got you down the road until you could replace them.  The car looks like it was very clean...  Very nice.

I know what you mean about daily vs perfection... none of my cars lead a sheltered life either, and that red CRX I posted has made me look at CRXs several times over the years.  Sooo tempting, but so much work and money, I don't think I could resit though if I owned a red one already.  I have more pics of that car if you'd like them as further inspiration, and at least if you ever decide to do a repaint, you wouldn't have to do a color change to get the paint looking that nice.

As for my Accord, right now I'm just focusing on reliability and suspension.  The paint is shot, so if I keep it for more than another year (which I probably will)... I'll have to have it repainted to protect it from rust.  I'll probably go with a color change as I've never been a fan of the soccer mom gold it came in - wife and I both like Lexus Matador Red.  Not sure if I'd keep it clean stock looking or throw a mild body kit on it.  Here's one of the cars that's inspiration for me.  The custom barreled Mugen wheels really set it off.

i'm a honda whore at heart. that accord is hella flush, a nice whip, and several other terms i don't really get. :)

my accord was on air cylinders, and while they were fun for a while, i was just done with the whole adjustable suspension after 7 years with my hydraulic isuzu (always dealing with the weakest point...the o-rings in both air setups and hydro setups). i had to break a pallet on the side of a highway once to shove the wood into the a-arm, just to nurse the truck home when a cylinder lost pressure. drag blocks to throw sparks always entertain, though.

my favorite addition on the accord was the 2000 eclipse spoiler that many advised would never work.

the wagons are awesome, and a bonus...pinball hauler. :)
