Other than the 2 extra holes drilled into the control panel it's pretty decent.
There is still a lot of glue on the panel.

Meh, I guess I enjoy losing money as I think he should bring it back.  The cp is going to be a challenge if you want to find a mint replacement, but boards aren't that hard to find and the sticks are available too.

you could also buy all the repo Galaga cabaret art at twobits.com minus the bezel as they don't sell them anymore.

Never buy anything from twobits if at all possible...

Does anyone have any idea how many different boards are used in gorf? other than the power board.
I see the cage with about 6 boards in it and a sound amp,is there any other boards i would need?

i think it's just that. 6-7 boards. i remember prOk and batman having a gorf board fix party. there was gorf guts all over the place. :)

+1 to what tim stated. twobits sucks. even if they're the only ones on earth that have your part, don't buy from them. build a space ship and buy from mars...better luck.

Weeping over the previously abused Gorfian child, but if he brings it back to life...we always welcome new Gorfian recruits!

There's the 6 boards in the cage (pita to find/ keep working or fix), the amp, and the power supply board, and power brick.  Don't forget the harness also. And then there's the joystick.  And then there's the CP.  I know there was a repro on the upright CP's now sold out, have never seen a cabaret CP listed, so that may be tough to find, but you may get lucky. The uprights also have the level rankings (Space Cadet, Space General, etc.) light board, but the cabarets don't.  I don't often see a lot of Gorf parts listed... when we had Gorf guts everywhere, we rebuilt him... made him better than he was before.  Better, stronger, faster.  He's now worth 6 Million dollars.

I hope you get yours going, it may take a bit of time and patience though until you find everything you need.

Do they have a decent Gorf Jamma PCB that would be easy to put in there?

The ArcadeSD plays Gorf, but it doesn't support a direct boot to game yet. That feature is said to be coming soon.  ;D

I'd probably turn the cabinet back into a Gorf with original control stick, and use an arcadesd card for Gorf and Galaga ... good compromise!

Yeah,  I watched the video and looked like a nice collection of games, not sure if they play exactly like the originals until you get it and compare. He says how it's better than the 60-1, and a nice collection of games.  SO, I went to check the price.

http://www.phoenixarcade.com/art.htm

Yeah, for 5x the price of the 60-1 I HOPE it's a bit better!  :-\

I recall Mick had a programmable multi board a while back also, Gorf wasn't quite right on that either (ditto for Mame), and also a bunch of others slightly different than the originals on various multi boards.  If you're not extremely picky they may be close enough.  If you OWN the original versions you will notice some slight differences. The 60-1 and 48-1's seem close enough for most of the games on them, but of course they don't have Gorf and a bunch of those other games. So, you have to ask yourself what those other games are worth to you, or just make a mame for same cost as a multi board.
