Isn't there a constrained supply of Priuses? (Prii?) I thought there was a real shortage, not one of those Nintendo-style "we've got 'em, we're just not going to ship 'em" shortages.

With the recent automotive bailout talk, too, I thought I had heard mention of Toyota not really making much, if any, profit on Prius sales.

No one will change habits until gas prices until they are >$5/gal.  I heard there was some turnover of SUVs last year, leaving a glut of them coupled with an economic downturn makes them hard to sell... so they can be had for very good prices.

Guess they should have made more because they weren't keeping up with the demand for most of the year at least. Toyota did stop the building (boo) of a us-based (yay) Prius factory tho because of our recent poopage (boo) and crash of oil prices (yay).

My cousin+husband got a big brand new Dodge truck but the motor can stop using 4 of the 8 cylinders like ye olde Caddy Northstar motors. They got this huge macked out truck for only $17k! A great deal for them and he needs to haul crap around for work so (yay)
