December 15th Update

This update has had some slow goings to a problem with insert availability but had a big  programming update.  Here where the programming goals from last update:



Here is what is in the latest update:

Attract Mode DMD Transitions and Light Show:
     
Now during attract mode the DMD screen transitions from the screen that says Florida Pinball Project (3 sec pause), a screen that says Like us on Facebook at FL Pinball Project with Facebook thump up pic (3 sec pause), rolling credits of people who contributed, then back again.  Also a light controller programs was defined so when I wire up the lights I can make a light show with just a txt file.  Video to come when I get the time to make some better DMD images.

The beginning of ball through programming:

The beginning of defining trough switches, making sure balls r in the trough, ejecting a ball, and ending a ball.

DMD Layers:

Nothing new here yet, going to work on a test jackpot screen for next update.

Main Song:

This is an exciting update.  Now when the start button is pushed, a the main theme starts.  I selected a temporary main theme to play with.  It's a surprise so you'll have to check it out at APE.

I'm totally amazed at how few insert color size combinations there are out there.  The availability of some inserts totally changed my insert layout a few times.  1" clear square and 1" clear circle inserts just don't exist.  I also ordered some wrong inserts that set everything back a week and a half.  I had planed to do a bank of 6 while 1"  clear square inserts but since there are no where to be found i went with yellow which actually don't look that bad.

Sanding progress and sun shinning through inserts.  Actually sanding the inserts and seeing everything flat has been really fun and rewarding.  Very slow going, plastic inserts are hard and take a lot of sanding.

Just a note, you sanded off the top layer of ply in some places.  I would NOT recommend sanding more. I assume you are doing a direct print and that core ply is not as nice as the top ply.

The top layer of ply was so thin, that u couldn't not sand through it.  I found that although this was the best grade/size plywood that lowes sells, there is better plywood to use in the future.  This playfield is literally going to be a whitewood.  The next playfield is going to be CNC'd.  I already found things I'm looking to chance with this playfield.
