Expo Hotel Discount

I wanted to do a follow-up to the other post asking where everyone was going to stay for the Expo.  I talked to the person I was working with for the original venue and she said they should be able to get us a discount rate.  She is sending me some information to confirm so it's not locked-in yet but once confirmed it should be a rate of $69 a night and include a free breakfast.

It is a nice hotel in a good area with a lot of restaurants and bars within walking distance and a movie theater right next door.  Also, the restaurant prok mentioned, Copelands, is right across the street.  It is pretty close to campus and probably just over 4 miles to where the show is being held.

She was thinking the discount could should be ready by tomorrow afternoon and I will post as soon as it is ready.

I just got confirmation from the hotel and our discount is all set now.  If you're interested in staying at the Hilton Garden Inn you can call directly at (904) 997-6600 to book using the group discounted rate, and the code you will need to give them is APS.

The rate will be $69 and is good for the nights of Friday 1/24 and Saturday 1/25.  Rooms booked under this It also includes a "Cooked-To-Order" breakfast which is a savings of $12.95.   

I don't think it will be an issue but there is a set number of rooms for this discount.  If you have a problem because they are all taken let me know and I will see about getting more added.

I'm not sure why they wouldn't offer a room with double beds, but I'll give them a call tomorrow and see about getting other rooms available.

Talked to the hotel and they are adding rooms with double beds.  She said their system should be updated late tonight or tomorrow.

Another quick follow-up on the hotel.   I just checked and double rooms are now available.  Also, you can call the national reservations line or the local hotel to make the reservation, just as long as you give them the group code APS.  The national reservations number is (800) 445-8667 or 800-Hiltons. 

They messed up when entering the name and actually have us listed as the Jacksonville Arcade Pinball Show but if you give them the code APS they should be able to find everything that way.
