Took a break to brew some beer.  I was big into home brewing but haven't done anything for the last year and a half

Somethings I would change:

I definately should have used a better grade plywood and although an awesome festool orbit sander with a 5"base you really need to use a drum sander.  The problem I found is that the plastic inserts are like 100x harder than the wood.  When u are leveling the hard inserts u also leveling a small area of the surrounding wood and by the time u have it level u have take off a lot of wood.  If I had a drum sander I could be really precise on getting everything level.

Making a Switch Hole

Part 1

Using a router and a 5/8" bit I use a straight edge and route out a line. I had to play with the length to get it so it would match the proper switch hole length when i used my other bit and bushing

Making a Switch Hole

Part 2

Put the template where you want the switch hole to go. I used the same inlay bit I used for the insets which is a 1/8" bit. The bushing is just a tad smaller than the template so the hole it creates is bigger than 1/8" but smaller than 1/4".
