A Few Ideas For Jax Expo II

1. Console Tournaments - the folks here on this board might be lukewarm about it, but we had a bunch of console guys at this year's event supporting us and we think we can grow the console side of this event quite a bit with the following we have developed here in North Florida. I can see a Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat tournament being a lot of fun.

2. Classic 80's Arcade Night - the only thing missing from the ambience Friday and Saturday night to make it feel like a true 80's arcade was the smell of pizza, some laser lights on the ceiling, and the sultry sounds of Journey floating from the jukebox speakers. Look for us to cheese it up a little next year in the later evening hours with some 80's music, a good laser light show, and -who knows- maybe we can find a way to pipe in the smell of fresh cooked pizza!

3. Make the pin tournament bigger - a true destination. I think the pinball tournament for our first year was a smashing success, but due to some unavoidable scheduling conflicts I think we missed out on a good base of pinball players from the Southeast region. We will look to correct that next year and make the pin tourney a true "destination".

We had that, but only me, Ron Donohue, and Donnie showed up ... and I think Donnie was only there to get set up for the pin tourney and Ron was only there because he gave Donnie a ride.

I guess we need to do a better job of publicizing it next year. The problem is, most villagers don't like to get up early.  :-)

Either they do not want to get up early, or they do not want to move games around, which is what we spent most of the early morning session doing.

different color name badges for different jobs- as an Exhibitor I must have fixed three pins ... I didn't mind but it was odd.

Green - Hospitality (don't ask us to do nothing but take money and be friendly)
DR - Fixer ( I can fix it!)
LB - Exhibitor (looky I brought something to share!)
DB - Attendee (Yeah man I paid for the whole thing!)

Then Green tags can say, 'go find someone with a red tag'
