Printing in 3D
« on: March 05, 2014, 12:56:07 PM »
I really want to learn about 3d printing so I decided to get a 3d printer for the home.  I preordered a makerbot mini which is expected to ship in the spring.  It only does 4" x 4" but is an affordable one touch 3d printer.  Unlike the CNC I'm building, I wanted my first venture into 3d printing to be easy and work right out of the box.  I really like makerbot and have been following them for a little bit.  I almost got a replicator 2 before they announced there three new printers.  I'm excited to be able to make things inside right next to my desk unlike a CNC which I'm going to have to use on the porch.  I'm going to be experimenting printing a few different parts.  One of my first projects is I'd like to prototype a new version of pop bumper.  I want to make a pop bumper that has a smaller footprint and maybe a different design.

A guy off klov made me a small gear for the paperboy controller that isn't available anymore. They worked great. Good luck, hope it works out for you.

I fix things.. all the things.. but you have reach out first to see how my queue looks. ( all things arcade/pinball/computer ) ... do not do house calls, repairs are generally live streamed on twitch.
