jax pin party!
« on: May 22, 2014, 10:45:17 PM »
still waiting on the jax/st augustine group sub-forum, but until then theres a get together at rick clarksons in jax coming up. he said set a date and so i did. its been confirmed by him. it will be at his place in green cove/jax on june 14th. i would imagine normal start time of 1pm till whenever he can stand it. he's always checking his mail so any questions should be forwarded directly to him on the village. directions/times/ect

his place is a great venue set up perfect for a good group of people to play. last time i was there he had 10-13 pins set up to play with a mega touch as well as ascot machine. plus you could walk away with a great deal on a pin. he's always selling something. anyways looking forward to it for sure. see y'all there!

Just keep pming Jack, he'll get to it eventually.  Good help is hard to find! Everyone should know by now you guys mean bid-ness up there after that Jax Expo show, lot's of good people so I'm sure this will be successful. Good luck with getting this going, would be nice to see another pop up in the northwest corner of FL so all...umm...6 corners I guess that would make?...  of the state have some kind of group.

I am not sure what that is supposed to mean, but personally I wish the best of success to your group.

I agree it is awesome that there are more clubs forming. Even in South Florida I have predicted there will eventually have to be multiple clubs as there are just too many people.  There have been 70+ people at the turnouts at places at open houses such as Brian Styles' Club 66 and Ron Donohue's Beast Lair.

Pinball is getting huge in Florida and that is fantastic.

The other sub forums were created AFTER a few successful group events, complaining in a public post does not make things move faster.

the sub forums are used for upcoming event and event discussions, general pinball & arcade talk regardless of where it is located in the state still should reside in the general pinball & arcade forum.

I fix things.. all the things.. but you have reach out first to see how my queue looks. ( all things arcade/pinball/computer ) ... do not do house calls, repairs are generally live streamed on twitch.

just stirring the pot a little jeff. trying to get blood pumping for upcoming events. I'm just happy to finally have a group.

also on behalf of hamsters comment, not really complaining, just trying to speed things up. if your saying that won't help, then i won't bring it up again. if theres something i can do to help, just ask TY joe

We are excited about upcoming events and we look forward to playing with you folks from up north.  We even ran into Mike Tedesco out west!  Mike is a great player, and always fun to hang out with.

BOOO!!!!  Don't be a mean Hamster!  They've already had a bunch of pinball parties/events up there, it just seems now they're making it an "official" regular group gathering.  What's the harm in giving them they're own space to help them out and keep all the chat and info in an easy to find place? If they get zero posts in a month you could always take the forum down.  "the sub forums are used for upcoming event and event discussions..." yeah, exactly, it's not just general chat if they're requesting help getting their official Jax group off the ground.   The Village is still promoting pinball events in all shapes and forms throughout the state, right?  Maybe help make things easier for them? Quit being mean!  :P

OK,  re-read the original post to make sure I didn't mis-understand something. I think I got it right...and understand what Hamster is saying, he thought this is just a one off party, hence general chat.  I read it as a party ANYWAY until they get the sub forum up to post regular events as previously requested.

I think what hamster was trying to say is that before a sub forum is made for a group in jax there should probably be a formal group to refer to.. someone leading/organizing it and a couple successful official group events sponsored by the region at large like all the other subs.   Until then, it's just someone having a party and the conversation belongs in general so things don't get lost in the sub forums.

I say go for it jax people, get something established!
