First impressions

Couple cheap Steam games I picked up recently that made decent first impressions:

Corporate Lifestyle Simulator - a twin-stick brawler/shooter, with retro graphics. The gimmick is that it's set in an office and all the managers have turned into zombies who moan things like "Synergy!" and "Service Level Agreement!" and "Think Outside the Box!".

It's basic, but actually a lot of fun. Various weapon upgrades, mostly from stuff you might find around an office, etc. I don't remember how much I paid for it, but it wouldn't have been more than $2 - well worth it at that price.

Coldfire Keep - this is apparently a mobile game ported over to PC/Steam. It's similar to the old Eye of the Beholder dungeon cralwer games, or the more recent Legend of Grimrock (which is also getting sequel soon).

The graphics are nice, it's very simplified though. Too early to tell if it's too simple. The odd thing is, I feel like I must have missed something right at the start of the game.

You wander around a bit in an area with no enemies and discover some plot points and also find a few items. The thing is, unlike most RPGs, you party doesn't start out with basic equipment. They have nothing. No weapons, armor or gold. The problem with that is you don't find enough weapons for everyone, and there's no un-armed attack, except for spells from the mage.

There's a vendor early on, but she sells no weapons or armor, and you don't find much gold anyway. So I was a bit at a loss at the first battle. One character could attack with the dagger I found, the mage could cast his one spell (at that level) and that was it. The other 2 characters couldn't do much of anything.

I got past that enemy, but it didn't drop any loot, so... ? I think I'll start the game over to see if I maybe missed something that should have been obvious.

Again though, don't remember what I paid but it wasn't more than $2 - can't tell if the game is good yet but it has some promise. I like the graphics and art style, and I'm fond of this type of game.
