So, one of the things Dug and I have been talking about is how to really recreate that "arcade atmosphere" at the Jax Show this year. All of us remember going to the arcade as a kid - there was eighties music, it was dark, if it was a particularly cool arcade there was probably a lot of neon and maybe even a laser or two (it was the eighties after all and lasers meant hi-tech).
Then, there was the darker side of the arcades with the smoking, the drug dealers that were inevitably never too far away, and the teenagers that were generally swearing and maybe even fighting.
We are going to try to recreate this on Saturday night at Jax Expo 2015 - well, everything but the drugs, the swearing, and the fighting. :-)
So ... on May 2nd at 8:30 PM, we will dim the lights, turn up the music and try to recreate that arcade feeling from 1981. This event is free for anyone that has already paid to attend Jax Expo for the day or for the weekend. Of course, it is also free to volunteers and exhibitors. This event will not impact anything happening in the tournament room. Lights and volume levels, etc. will remain constant in the tournament room throughout the event.
Hope to see all of you there. It should be a lot of fun!
