neat, but not rare. he's using the arcade-museum owner's list to determine only 6 exist...lol. by that logic, I've owned dozens of games where 0 exist, and still do. :o

price police spoiler. he's nucking futs. :)

edit. ok, it might be rare. I *think* I've seen one in my OP raids, but when it comes to that footprint, I don't care if it's the only 1 on earth. i'll snap pictures and let someone else move that beast. same logic, I've seen at least 2 6-player xmen cabinets deep in storage.

It's rare but not unbelievably so. They used to have one at Malibu in Tampa.

Other than the 2 player bit the late 90s Star Wars Trilogy is better than this in every way.

If you really want to play it, there's a port on the Sega 32x

Yeah, really.  $18.5K rare?

Not for me.

That's a nutty price.  But hey, it's Star Wars, so you never know when you'll find that collector that doesn't know any better.

I had the opportunity to buy one of these exact games for 500 dollars two years ago from a bowling alley warehouse sale. I had no interest in it and it was gigantic. It can't be that rare but had I known I could have sold it for almost 20 grand  ;) I would have grabbed it.

Ever see one of these auctions and think "screw this guy" and send him an offer of $500 or something really low.. only to find out that they accepted it?   ;D

I did that on another collectible one time and was pissed when I won..  :o

See if it sells first :)

Honestly its one of those game that is cool but not to the level of the space it requires.

This guy must be a dealer as if you look at his other "items for sale" you will see he has similar high prices on a bunch of games. He has over $130,000 worth of asking prices listed and I would bet he won't sell any of them. If he does then we are all going to be rich some day.

I just mention it as it is one of the harder Sega Model 1 games to find.  I'm a big fan of Virtual Fighter and Virtual Racing.  Would be cool to have all the model 1 games as it was the first system Sega and Lockheed Martin worked on, called the Real 3D division back in the day.  The history is as interesting as the games sometimes.  The Era when 3D really started to become mainstream. I also believe most of the work for it was done here in Florida which is cool.

Cool bit of background info namco 8).  If you find one local I'll help you move it...if you rent a box truck with a lift gate  ;) :P.

As for rarity I've never seen one in the decade I've been in and out of the hobby, but no doubt they were much more common a few years back.  I bet a significant percentage of the larger games from the late 80's through the late 90's will be much harder to find than we think in the coming years as most were parted/junked since they don't earn and 99% of the current collectors shun them.

Would love to play one someday 8)

I once owned the Jurassic Park arcade that had the large projecting TV and the large bench seat compartment complete with curtains to draw close. Even though the screen was separate and could be moved fairly easily the main seating area was a beast. No way to get it in and out of regular doors without tearing it down further. Very glad when I saw it leaving my driveway on somebodies else's trailer.
