i was talking with Rat's about format...

We discussed this, any thoughts?

1) Do the same old format we did at Octive/Fubar , but just require 2 man team. we do 8 game bank, $10 buy in. ( not 4 man team ), team is only required to eliminate the need for a "Score Keeper" on each game. Everyone is required to play 1 game on all 8.  you can mulligan for chance to improve a score on any game for a buy in of $5.00 (before the game start ), still requires 2 players, second player score does not count if did not pay, max 2 buy ins per game. Standard HERB style scoring on bank of 8, 100,90,89,88,87...
4) cut-off at X time ( need to sort that )  ?? 
5) top 4 players then play head to head on bank of 3 game, using 4-2-1-0 scoring, total points declares winner..

Just FYI: Standard Herb scoring is 100, 90, 85, 84, 83, 82, etc.

Of course, any ranking number system can be employed.

Thoughts (random!)

1. With 2 possible mulligans per game x 8 games, could we see a long wait for qualifying to end? Maybe allow players to mulligan twice but on only 3 machines?

2. Would like to do a side tourney or two for fun, with fun prizes. Any format ideas?
a: Two player Zen (w/ same pairs as tourney?
b: One-handed play on Demoliton Man using only the grips?
c: i think I've got it... Tommy Style! Blindfolded, wearing noise canceling headphones!!! (with a guide of course)

3. When a format is determined, is there a site with templates I can print for each team  to use, or can someone forward me one?

i can handle the main stuff, laptop, monitor, score sheets, software.

I was thinking the mulligans were two MAX ... but can make it 3? I agree, there needs to be a cutoff time and then we say were done.

I would do high score on the side tourny's but Zen & Blind folded would require 2 players, so could just add to list?

Sorry, I misread this as 2 buy ins / mulligans per machine, which potentially could grind on for a L-O-N-G time (24 total games!) if someone took 2 on each game.    Maybe have the option to mulligan expire once all teams finish the required 8 games, with the last team in having an option for one more go? Then the playoff can commence and everyone else isn't waiting.

Thanks for bringing the main stuff. Have a 32" LCD tv with PC-RGB & HDMI ins we can use as monitor too.

Envisioned "Tommy Style" as single player, with the guide letting you know you'd drained. Could also cover the flipper area with a mask like the Data East machine, and pass on the sensory deprivation toys.

Thanks for hosting Marshal, what a great collection of games! Best playing TZ , Met, IJ I've played. What a treat, congratulations to Taygeta, a very impressive round.  Food was great and  it was Great seeing everyone today, looking forward to the next one.😄
