I am very pleased to officially announce the 7th annual Florida Arcade & Pinball Exposition.

About the venue:
Most of you may remember the Florida APE here back in 2012.
Although our last venue was extremely big, actually even too big for our true vision of recreating a nostalgic arcade experience, it came with multiple drawbacks for our unique event requirements that made it unfeasible to so many involved.
With that being said, Mardi Gras is very easy to get to, it offers its guests plenty of free parking just a few feet away, and easier accessibility for all exhibitors and vendors which help make the APE what it is today.

In this huge multi-level venue, it is planned for the entire arcade experience to flow in just a single level.
You will find full amenities within the venue: an upscale signature restaurant providing casual dining at its finest, a quick-bite cafe, and even a full liquor bar in the arcade.

Florida Supercon will once again also host a large array of console gaming stations in a separate, but adjoined area.
An even more amazing layout is in the works for all facets of the show.

Looks like a great venue, I'm sure the show will be worth the three hour drive down from Kissimmee! Love me some APE!

Why is the event at Mardi Gras casino?  It's definitely not a family-friendly place and extremely smokey inside.  That smell will be with the equipment and visitors for a while after the show.  I can see the appeal of lots of free parking and there is space there for things.  But that is about the only positives I can think of.

I don't know where else you would be able to find space to hold the expo at the same costs.  But, I would imagine there are better alternatives.

OMG.... I REALLY hate somkey interiors and don't do well in them!! Is the atmosphere really like a smoking section of the casino? This could be a deal breaker in terms of going. I hate being in smoke smell, even after you leave it stays in your clothes for what seems like forever.

Wasn't smokey the last time Ape was there. Not even outside at the track

I don't recall smoke being an issue either.

Maybe there is a smoking section of the casino, but the last APE held there was not part of it. 

I am sure Marcel will chime in and allay concerns.

Agreed. I don't remember it being smokey at all, if anything, what I remember was how cold it was on the lower floor where the EMs were at (not a bad thing) heh.

Interesting...  I haven't been there in a couple months.  Outside typically isn't much of an issue.  Anyway, I'll try to remember to stop by there on my way home from work one day next week.  If it's not smokey, I'll be sure to update my post so it describes the venue more accurately.

Remember that whatever is going on in  that space now won't be going one during the APE show.

Understanding peoples concern of cigarette smoke in the arcade or anywhere in the show areas for that matter:

People DON'T smoke where the games are. Never at any Ape show has that been allowed.

There IS a casino and a poker room. Do people smoke there? I don't know and I don't care. The Florida Ape will not be in those areas, traverse thru those areas, or be anywhere close to those areas.

For people that DO smoke; from the arcade area, there will be a very convenient exit into an outside area under the grandstand for which people can smoke.

I've NEVER been to  a bad APE show, everything always good! Looks the trend will continue, see you there! I booked a room soon as they were announced. Smoke concerns "up in smoke" now.
