Garbage Pail Kids vinyl figures
« on: September 14, 2015, 04:01:53 PM »

With all the GPK talk of recent this looked relevant.

Was at Walgreens and they had these. Picked one up. Fairly good quality on the figure. It has some articulation and the paint is well applied.

Downside.. blind box packaging and they are expensive. I think it was around $8 for this. Not sure I'd buy another at that price as the chance of getting a duplicate would just get worse and what would you do with a dupe? $8 is too much to easily throw away.

almost all of the blind box figures run $9.99, give or take. agree, that's a goofy risk for something...unknown.

eBay, which I hate, is the place to go buy the entire set at a discount.

I actually hit Tate's, a local comic/toy store down here. I wanted a family guy kid robot toy to turn into a keyring for my family guy. they had a couple of open boxes on the display, and a sign that said:
IF YOU BUY A BLIND BOX, AND DON'T LIKE THE FIGURE, TRADE WITH US

they had a peter griffin (and Meg...shut up, meg) on the shelf. I told the clerk "if it's not Joe or Death in this box, I'm trading out for peter". I lucked out, though:

Yep Tate's is cool like that.  That's where I have bought a couple of those vinyl characters for my daughter (They were more Frozen and Inside Out), but they run out so quickly that I only got like 1 or 2 and then they had different sets there.

Still, I like shopping there for stuff like that.
