Castlevania Fans -- Can you explain this??
« on: December 29, 2015, 03:07:06 AM »

I was just looking around at some prices and was amazed by this.

Now I've seen these go for $100 ish before, but $500+

OK, these must be somewhat rare. Released around '90 there were a few ports of Konami games to the C=64. By 1990 the C=64 was pretty much on it's very last legs here in the states. What once was the defacto home gaming computer was down to a small corner of Electronics Boutique. So i'm sure these weren't released in too great of numbers.. at least not here. Maybe more so in Europe.. but c'mon, its a port of Castlevania. In the case of the C=64 its pretty damned close to the NES but its still not the NES version. Are people just trying to get a complete set of every released copy? Really?

I had this and TMNT. I just checked my box of manuals and since I never throw anything away I got at least the instructions..

I'm 99% sure I still have the disk, probably in a completely unusable condition but I doubt that matters. The $500 question is.. did I save the box? I'll find out this weekend when I check the garage back at the parents house.

If anyone can explain this though I'm all ears and if you have old computer games in your attic, double-check! Some of them are worth their weight in gold apparently (maybe literally!)

I fix things.. all the things.. but you have reach out first to see how my queue looks. ( all things arcade/pinball/computer ) ... do not do house calls, repairs are generally live streamed on twitch.

Sad thing about Florida attics and garages, silverfish will eat anything paper including game boxes. Lol

I haven't had a silver fish eat any manuals or boxes for consoles yet. They have chewed up quite a few arcade manuals though.. usually the ones left in the cabinets

That is crazy expensive!  Hopefully, you find the box somewhere.  I'm sure it's worth quite a lot with just the disc and manual though.

My brothers attic.  He's not getting it back. Inside seems to be ok.  I don't think it was ever taken out to play.
