Thank you Ian and family, and also to Marcel and Dilayla for all your hard work on this. Very unique tourney format and nice trophies.
7 teams of 2 worked together to try and earn the largest composite score on 12 individual games. In each round 2 games were played. One game was played by the captain, one by the apprentice. Switching of games between the 2 players on a team was permitted ball to ball if desired.
The catch was that each ball was timed using a Monaco standup driving game played alternately each round by one team. If the ball drained, the player stopped and waited before plunging the next ball. Otherwise, time was called when the driving game ended. The driving game had a max time of about 90 seconds, so each ball could not exceed that time. Games were 4 balls, so max game/round time was about 6 minutes.
At the end of 7 rounds the 2 teams that emerged were
Jeff P./Tatiana: top qualifying team 906,085,100
2nd Joel/Ian 764,514,265
Remaining teams
3rd Dave/Dilayla 729,782,577
4th Carlos/Anna 625,563,906
5th Sebastian/Diana 439,945,747
6th Christian/Lola 334,532,931
7th Mike/Jeff G. 295,821,535
(The nonzero last digit was because the Monaco score added to the overall score)
The top 4 players played a single game to determine the final 4 positions and walk away with the trophies.
