Biker gets instant revenge on car that cut him off

There's nothing sweeter than a healthy dose of instant karma.

A motorcyclist was riding in the left lane of a two lane road in South Windsor, Connecticut, when the lanes begin to merge.

A car in the right lane decided to cut the motorcycle off. After a few beeps and some choice words, the driver didn't relent. So the biker, who happened to have a helmet cam recording the whole thing, noted the driver's license plate number and kept going. Until he saw a police officer parked in a lot just up the road.

After telling the cop what happened, the officer hits the lights and pulls the woman over. She received two tickets, according to the motorcyclist, who originally posted the video to Reddit.

The cop said he gave her 2 tickets; Passing on the right and unsafe lane change. Somewhere between $200-$300. I'm more than happy with that result as she can't really fight them as they have the video too.

She's losing her lane and needs over.  She's trying to accelerate past him into the gap between him and the truck ahead.  He speeds up.  Yes, she should yield to him at the point where the motorcyclist isn't letting her in, but he could have just allowed her to merge.  He escalated that situation.

I'm on a bike often down here, but even I realize that I may be right, but with a slick move by women left, I'm instant dead.

is it worth it? no. but would I act the same...depends on the day. :)

common sense. I am seeing it rationally from a PC. but on the bike, I'd probably do the same damm thing. I hate cars that sneak past using the entrance lane until the last possibly second on highway merges. except I wouldn't tattle. totally attention whore for the bike rider. technically, in his own video, he's 50%+ at fault. he's badly lagging behind the truck, and accelerates when he feels her need to get into his lane. created a non-issue if he just let her in.

but again...I did this today. with some jackoff in a jetta. sped up in the merge lane, tried going ahead of me with 4 car lengths available behind me....so I blocked his 95 merge entrance. still squeezed his azz in by running me a lane over...so passed to the right on the emergency runoff and went in front of him. then we had words. fun words.

If you liked that you'll love this:

another unnecessary escalation by both driver and biker.

This biker in my opinion won't last long doing the things he did in this video.

I'd say most of us have been on both sides of a situation like that.  Probably a long line of cars behind the biker.  Accelerating into that gap makes sense.  In my experience you can't really count on the kindness of your fellow motorist to allow you to merge ,though it does happen.  Of course if she was racing up that lane trying to cut in, I'd be pissed too.  I just don't get the impression that's what happened here.

Wow!  9 times out of 10 the biker gets away with that stuff.  The 10th time he encounters Quazimodo who is just a little more crazy than he is.

I gotta agree, the way the 1st video rider rides, he won't last on the roads. car could have smacked him, and nothing would ever get posted to reddit.

I didn't see any lane ends signage, but the bike gave the truck a ton of room, but didn't want that Honda to get in front of him. can't tell what was going on behind him, but he sped up and created the issue. no idea why the cop would issue the car a ticket from that video evidence without citing the biker for aggressive driving.

I hope the cop told the Honda "I'm going to tell this guy on the bike you got tickets, seems to give him some jollies."

at the end of an average trip, if you let 30 people in front of you, it will cost you a net loss of time of about 10 seconds. :P

in russ's video, that's just straight forward Welcome to Miami. (they're ALL nuts down there) :)

This is what gives bikers a bad name IMHO.  He seemed to really go out of his way to be an asshole to someone for no real reason.  He's all proud that maybe he got that lady tickets when in reality he should probably himself be cited for overly aggressive driving.  Some day, he's going to find a tree the hard way as a result of going so far out of his way to be difficult to others.
