it sucks you can't buy this in Kit form, must be bought from an installer... i don't trust other people to solder anything..

I could get you just the kit. It's not a fun install though. The guy I got mine through only ends out charging $20-30 for the install.

Im assuming the n64 doesnt output native RGB like the SNES?

Most do but it's dark so you need to install a RGB amp

There are decent SCART > HDMI adapters for cheap. Most of the consoles only need the $15 cable then you are golden. Its no framemeister but looks really good.

Plus who doesnt have one of those NEC x29 or whatever RGB monitors lying around?

my 57" LED tv has RGBHV input and supports 240p input... i also have some sweet 5K Lumens projectors that do the same :)
