Quick update as of yesterday.  Things are moving along.

Nope... Street and track.  The seat covers have padding and are actually pretty comfortable.

I won't be driving it cross country though.

lol. if you can stand to sit in the seats for more than 11 seconds, you have a potential grocery-getting car.

I've had track cars with bad 1-position seats. yes, they are fast. no, they are not comfortable even for sub-10 seconds.

it's looking good. keep it up. you're way ahead of me, i FINALLY found a fender after a month long nationwide search.

Here's a quick update.  This week I'm ordering all the parts to build the headers and exhaust all stainless.     Custom built sway bar is on order.. probably a couple weeks out.

So the only thing remotely "Vega" is the sheet metal?

Correct.  The body is complete and original.  The factory floors and suspension severely limit the wheel/tire combination I want to run and the suspension wouldn't hold up to the driving that this thing is going to get.

Here's a couple of pictures of the exhaust system.  All stainless with v-band clamps for any future service and stainless Spin Tech mufflers tucked in in front of the rear diff to avoid any ground clearance or heat issues.

The dash will be removable so it can be reinstalled after the chassis is powder coated.  It's going in mainly for looks, I'm going to go with a Race Pac data logger dash.

Very impressed with this labor of love. Surprised the body is in such great shape, up north these become rust buckets due to lousy design. Congrats on an impressive undertaking!

I thought that I would find some rust when I started tearing it down and cutting it up but it was shockingly clean.

Well this is the final position of the pedals and column.  It's getting there.

Well... I added some stuff and a few parts took much longer to get than I expected but the chassis should be going out for powder this week.

i like your vega, but i can't believe you have all that room and there aren't folded up mata haris or galagas sitting around.

Just a quick update.  I decided to build a LS3 with a little more HP.  It should be ready to go in the car soon.
