Anyone interested in a pole position topper
« on: April 30, 2017, 06:05:20 PM »
I came across one, not mine but I can get it if someone wants it. I guess just pm me with an offer and I can pass it along to him. It looks perfect. The picture is not of the actual topper, I didn't get a pic of it.

After we met up I went to this small warehouse/storage he had a few arcade related things. I got a couple nice marquees (rampage, tron) and he had this topper. I had no use for it. But its near my work and i can contact him with a price if you or anyone is interested.
I'm not sure which one it is how so I identify which one it is?

Well, it's like this, PP1 has one track, PP2 has four, I think you'll notice the different patterns on the sign.  Don't suppose you found a Nibbler marquee?

I haven't seen an official PP2 one before, though a person I know on the west coast was putting one together based on some photographs/ads. I have one signed by the two record holders from '84 or else I'd seek to buy this immediately. They make the sit down version look great and can work pretty well on the upright.

Just as a type of reference, there were some repro versions of these made in a couple different runs in the past years. The repro metal topper, as well as the decal graphic to go on top, shipped for around $90-$100 I believe. I had just the repro graphic and compared it to an original and they looked pretty good. The original has a texture like an Atari control panel overlay whereas the repro was more like a vinyl decal.
