Lucky that you even found that many.. I have yet to see one. That wasn't in a pawn shop with a $200+ price tag, I mean.

Its simple page hopping and there are some games I would have never played otherwise that might be time burners.. I know what I am going to do once mine gets here this week. (scored 2 off the amazon treasure truck)

I have a great plan setup for mine.  First step to mod it.

Oh I know, I've been emulating for a while now.  There are indeed some hidden gems.

I tossed the fan favorites on it, and put it in the break room at my work for my employees to play.

I still haven't modded mine.  I'm afraid that I will screw it up.

Phil.

Go for it.  Not only is it easy, but you can always drop it back to original if you want.  I've flashed multiple units at this point and all work great.

Fish - its really weird you are having that issue.

Try a different usb cable / port / pc reboot - otherwise meet me at the tampa hackerspace or setup a time to come over to riverview and I will hook it to my system and hit it a few times ... I should be able to get it to work..

I had a similar issue but it was when I was trying to hack 2 of them back to back without moving the original eprom backup and the system (hakachi) thought that it already backed up the bios and wouldnt recognize the system because it technically didnt load the CFW on the device yet.

ya if that doesnt work - im pretty much open all week - so just hit me up i will give you the address come over we will slap it onto my lappy and see if we can make it work.

the ONLY thing I could think of it it doesnt work (and this is totally possible) is that if you bought it second hand and the joker modded it, and then "un"modded it back to default 30 games before selling it to you (in fears of getting busted for installing roms) and now the system is trying to install the bootstrap that is already there..

You could attempt to just choose the roms and click load and see if they go..

you could just put the device in restore/softboot mode and manually tell hakachi to backup the default rom/bios, which would bypass the driver install if the device is already hacked and pull the rom/bios that way.. once that is done you would then again manually tell it to patch/hack the rom (which might already be done) and then continue to load the roms that way..

there are a bunch of ways to approach this.. but all else fails just bring it to me and I will tinker with it.

The one I bought was brand new in the box....I did get it off ebay though but everything seemed brand new.  The issue it seems to be with mine is I can't get it into FEL mode.  The red light always comes on. ....according to hakchi it says the red light is suppose to stay off.  I hold reset......press power....continue to hold reset for several more seconds and let  go of reset.  a few seconds later the red light comes on.  so far ive tried it on 3 laptops and a desktop.

what does the UI on the console look like.. are you sure its not a bootleg unit?
Do you have it plugged into HDMI at the time you are doing this (I normally dont have them hooked to a TV, just usb power from the PC)

When you run hakachi, after you plug it into the PC, can you tell it to read the firmware - what does it do.. open the unit up and take a photo, I have photos I took of 2 units insides comparing the bootlegs to the OEM it will be VERY obvious when you crack the case open if its a bootleg.
