Yep. The shutdown routine for my RetroPi: Pull the plug.
After a little over 1.5 years of doing that on a daily basis it seems to be working just fine, although maybe I'll pay for it in a few years.

Whats the worst case scenario? The OS corrupts or something? That's a whopping 15 minutes to reflash a card.
Even if the whole pie blew up you are out what.. $30?
That's the awesome thing about them.. they are so cheap who cares?

Yep, it gets powered off by unplugging just like the rest of the machines. Its been a year and so far no issues. Had a few people over and it got continuous play over 8 hours and no issues.
