No one likes seeing working games parted, but everyone likes being able to find the restoration parts they need. I am not much for parting, and have never parted a game except for one termite ridden specimen (playfield, cabinet). I do know that if I did not already have a Flash Gordon, I would buy this one, despite the cosmetic issues.
I do not think Eric has a bunch of choices. He no longer wants the game (I suspect that he regrets buying it). He offered it up for $275 for the whole working game, and nobody wants it. So, he can either keep a game for which he no longer has any interest or space, or try to recover some money off of it and theoretically help out some folks who want to save other games. Hard choice, and I am not sure what decision I would make. But, taking all of that into consideration, I am reluctant to find fault with the decision he has made.
Anyone with the urge to save the game can do so. If $275 is too much, offer him less. But questioning his commitment/skill does not seem fair to me. FWIW,
Ron
